Crimson Phoenix Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) So I saw this video on youtube about CAP armor ------------- at first I figured it was just AP armor with a random C in front of it. But it's packaged differently, looks different, looks slighty bigger than AP, and more accurate than FX. Can someone tell me more please? Or PM me about it, and the details? Guest weiBes Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 CAP armor,,,,hhhm that would be mine. the origin is TE 2005 suit that i recasted. recast? yeah, very nice? yeah. You cant tell the difference between the two unless you know what to look for. the current helmet was cast from a TE bumpy prior to the sale of his molds, though these are done in small amounts due to the problems making them, they will be easier to obtian in the near future and might go ABS soon, depends. This stuff is nothing new and has been around since about 2006 late 06, but was done just for prop collectors. Its just recently became available to a few. CAP

Onigiri[TK] Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 No problem 'dude'...you chose to come after me with the high horse commentary...you stepped up so you shouldnt be too surprised. To me its about way more then plastic. You win dude... Call me what ever names you want for my opinion.
SuperTrooper Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 This thread is about CAP armor. The name calling and recast talk ends now. The FISD is a 501st detachment, as such we can not ban recasters due to the Legion's position on recasting. If people don't like this position then join the 501st, get elected to a command position, and try and change it. Some people have said that there is no agreement between CAP and TE. The only 2 people that can answer that are CAP and TE, both of which are active members here and may be answered shortly.
Daetrin[Admin] Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 I'm locking this thread for now. It *may* open up again later today. Will post more once I have time to write a thought out reply, and consult with Terrell.
trooperstormy Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 My set of CAP armor is coming along very smoothly. Can't wait to finish it.
Guest weiBes Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 I wont delve into the bad words and cursing even though i would like to. I have heard it all before and i dont need to go there. I spent a great deal of money and personal time in what i have done, it wasnt easy and it wasnt cheap. i suggest that no one takes the road, its not fun and theres no pot of gold, surely no rainbow. I did it becuase i love the image of the trooper, it has been burned into my memory and i love to make the stuff. i am in no competion with any one and care not to be, it is what it is and those who want the same qaulity suit can save a dime. Only a few know the relationship between Matt and I, that is between he and i, so dont make half cocked assumptions. If you love what i make, sweet go for it, if you dont? oh well go somewhere else, dont matter to me. I can be friends with anyone, you would be suprised how nice i am, i bend over backwards for anyone who is worth it. Enjoy your armor guys, its all about you and the kids who love to see it, i havent lost my direction to what its all about, have you? we all need to ask that question, its not about the money. never was, never will be. i have a real job and its not props. If anyone who is against me would like me to be banned or gone just let me know and i will grant your request, but then you will feel the cold shoulder i am sure.
Runnriottt Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 I hear you are heading to ABS... Is this in the future?
Amish Trooper Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 I hear you are heading to ABS... Is this in the future? I would to know this
SuperTrooper Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Obviously people didn't head the warning to knock off the personal jabs, and recasting debate in this thread. All I can say is everyone was given a warning, it's posted in red on page 2. So don't complain when the we (the staff) have to take action with this blatant display of showmanship. It should be noted that whatever other prop/costuming forums think or do will not effect the way the FISD does things. We are held to a set of rules above ourselves, that's why some join the 501st and others choose not to.
