troopermaster Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 Ammo strap is riveted on in the wrong place. What reference material did you use? E6000 inside the edging trim. Tape in place and leave to dry. Job done Quote
Maxl[TK] Posted June 1, 2016 Author Report Posted June 1, 2016 Sorry, what do you mean with reference material? Why wrong place? :-/ Ok, thx for the tip (E6000) sent from Deathstar Quote
troopermaster Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 The straps should be attached like this: Not like this: Quote
Maxl[TK] Posted June 2, 2016 Author Report Posted June 2, 2016 damn! on both sides of the ammo? how can I do it right now? Quote
Maxl[TK] Posted June 2, 2016 Author Report Posted June 2, 2016 I used many builds for reference. And everybody riveted it different ... Quote
troopermaster Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 Only use the original LFL costumes for reference and you cannot go wrong 1 Quote
humperdingle Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 damn! on both sides of the ammo? how can I do it right now? Rivets are easy enough to drill-out. You can glue a small piece of ABS behind the holes and fill / sand smooth. Quote
humperdingle Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 I am sending him a replacement That'd be a much neater option Quote
Maxl[TK] Posted June 4, 2016 Author Report Posted June 4, 2016 Sorry, what means LFL? Thanks, Paul again for sending a new one sent from Deathstar Quote

Maxl[TK] Posted June 4, 2016 Author Report Posted June 4, 2016 Have now cut the elastic for the abdomen: http://s1098.photobucket.com/user/mar_v85/library/abdomen%20finish%20cutting%20elasticand on the back the elastic is already glued http://s1098.photobucket.com/user/mar_v85/library/chest%20gluing%20elastic today (I mean 04/06/2016) I do nothing more ... * yawn * good night! Maxl[TK] Posted June 7, 2016 Author Report Posted June 7, 2016 the back is ready now I have a question about the kidney/posterior armor: The CRL requires that the edges of the hip areas should be rounded/curved. Now I drawed a line with a pencil to show you, how I would cut. Is that right, or have I misunderstood that? greets, Markus Quote
troopermaster Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 Do not cut it. Put the trim on as is and you are building it properly regardless of any CRL's. Quote
Maxl[TK] Posted June 7, 2016 Author Report Posted June 7, 2016 Ok, thx Paul!!! ;-) sent from Deathstar Quote
Maxl[TK] Posted June 9, 2016 Author Report Posted June 9, 2016 Abdomen and chest are finished except two points. I had to glue them again, but I'm shure now I FIXED it http://s1098.photobucket.com/user/mar_v85/library/Chest%20and%20Abdomen%20finished I also glued the kidney/posterior. Once I measured incorrectly, so I had to add a little piece ... I hope it will looks good ... http://s1098.photobucket.com/user/mar_v85/library/Kidney%20and%20Posterior%20gluing Quote
Maxl[TK] Posted June 10, 2016 Author Report Posted June 10, 2016 can anybody tell me how many rips of the shoulder stripes are affixed in the front and in the back? Are 5 correct? Quote
troopermaster Posted June 11, 2016 Report Posted June 11, 2016 5 is okay. The rivet goes between rib 2 and 3. Glue the loop side of Velcro inside the opposite end of the strap and the hook part to the back plate Quote
humperdingle Posted June 11, 2016 Report Posted June 11, 2016 5 is okay. The rivet goes between rib 2 and 3. Glue the loop side of Velcro inside the opposite end of the strap and the hook part to the back plate Forgive my ignorance in the building of armour But, is he not better glueing the straps, rather than riveting, as the CRL doesn't allow rivets for anything higher than level 2? "Shoulder Straps For 501st approval: Shoulder Straps are securely mounted in front and may free float in back. They may be affixed with rivets, Velcro, or adhesive. For level two certification (if applicable): No visible rivets are allowed. Shoulder straps do not have a flat surface at the ends. Straps are ribbed 100%. For level three certification (if applicable): These are affixed in the front (no snaps, rivets or brads are visible). These are affixed in the back (no snaps, rivets or brads are visible)." Quote
troopermaster Posted June 11, 2016 Report Posted June 11, 2016 I keep saying the CRL's are wrong. I only care how the original LFL costumes were assembled and I advise everyone to build their kits the same. The original shoulder straps are riveted to the chest and Velcroed in the back. The rivet allows the strap to swivel so less chance of cracking. 2 Quote

Maxl[TK] Posted June 11, 2016 Author Report Posted June 11, 2016 @humperdingle: no problem. I know that it's very hard to follow EVERY Threat ;-) Is there any risk of not getting the CEN, when I'll rivet the straps? AND the rivets are not painted white, right? sent from Deathstar Quote
troopermaster Posted June 11, 2016 Report Posted June 11, 2016 You can paint the rivets white. I cannot imagine copying the original armour will prevent you from gaining Centurion approval - especially when evidence is presented. 1 Quote
Maxl[TK] Posted June 11, 2016 Author Report Posted June 11, 2016 (edited) Ok, then I will rivet and paint them white! Thanks, Paul!!! PS.: what color-number shall be the white one (for the rivets) to choose the same color as the armor! Edited June 11, 2016 by Maxl Quote
Maxl[TK] Posted June 11, 2016 Author Report Posted June 11, 2016 I have already rivetted the shoulder straps in the front. I think it looks quite good ... 1 Quote
