While I was cutting a piece of ally pipe for power cylinders I noticed a tent pole on my bench, the steel tubes have an almost identical diameter to the cylinder bodies...

Kev I had great fun scratch building my own power cylinders so it's certainly worth a go. Your tent poles have a slightly larger diameter than the 9.55mm diameter brass tubes I used. It would be interesting to know if anyone knows the correct diameter of the actual screen used power cylinders.

Yupp I know they're bigger but only just, if I can fit end caps on them I'll be using them (I have more tents and poles than a camping shop)

If not I've got enough in 9.5 ally and stainless...
