MaxTrooper Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 I really like this armor and is on the list to get one. Just looking for opinions on this armor. I have a bit of a belly and it's the reason I went with this one. Plus some trimming is already done and it's in my price point. This kit would work for 501st approval, yes? Feel free to submit all opinions either here or send me a PM. Thanks everyone!! Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Hey John, good choice and yes if built correctly it's 501st approved. If you have further questions please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers 1 Quote
TD42115[501st] Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 John, I second what Tony above said, good choice on the AM 2.0, its one of the better armor for us bigger troopers. Chris 1 Quote
Dark PWF[Staff] Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 AM 2.0 is an excellent kit. Particularly for those of us who may be a little tall or large for a Stormtrooper. 1 Quote
MaxTrooper Posted April 28, 2016 Author Report Posted April 28, 2016 I'm not particularly tall. Only 5'10. But I do have a belly. That's where I gain weight. In my torso. Quote
Airborne Trooper[501st] Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 You'll be fine with AM 2.0 armor. 1 Quote
TD42115[501st] Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Yes AM 2.0 will be fine, I will be replacing my AP chest and Back with AM 2.0. AP is just too small for a 49 inch chest.. if i was 5 inches smaller no problem... 1 Quote
Pledford[TK] Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 ordered my AM 2.0 kit at the 1st of Feb. got it in a few weeks. Finished it (minus the holster) this past weekend. It was my 1st build and I was very nervous! I liked that it cam pre trimmed and it was in my price range. Of course I had to do lots of additional trimming to fit me but it was not bad at all. I followed Navajo Bro's AM build tread also. His build thread is great for 1st time builders . Its very detailed. I highly recommend AM 2.0. You will be very happy with it I'm sure!!!!! 1 Quote
MaxTrooper Posted April 29, 2016 Author Report Posted April 29, 2016 Thanks Pledford! I'll give it a look 1 Quote

Airborne Trooper[501st] Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 Go to the ANH Build section and read as much as you can. Make yourself a favorites folder in your browser and add any important tutorials you want to reference down the line. Quote

SheaJeff[TK] Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 Holy cow that build is detailed! It will take a lot of back and forth from the workbench to the computer to ensure I don't forget anything. Thanks for the link. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Pledford[TK] Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 yes it is! I like the way he breaks it down as "Day 1, Day 2" etc. I had my laptop open and worked side by side making sure that mine looked just like his. Sure I made some mistakes on mine but nothing major. All I wanted to do was get it finished so that I could wear it. Now that I am done (all except the holster) I kind of miss going downstairs every evening and working on it. I will always be doing little things to it and making modifications as I go though so the work is never really done. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to ask. I will do my best to help. There were lots of guys on here that helped me and if it were not for them I would have really screwed it up. Enjoy!!!!! 1 Quote
zemzero Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 I have a question about the ab plate. On the vertical button plate there is a valley near the bottom of the buttons in screen caps. On the am ab plate this divet isn't present. Is it a big deal? Quote
