The Anonymous Egyptian Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) I was browsing Amazon when I came across this item here; --------------- Now, clearly I would have to paint them white, but if I did so to a decent extent, would these be 501st acceptable? magni[TK] Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 Those could work after painting. The only problem I see with that style is the ankle is wide and sometimes gives the shin a hard time staying closed and down. Been there done that! Now have imperial and they're tight around ankle. Solved a lot pf problems. 1 Quote

ukswrath[Staff] Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 Acceptable at all levels of approval Quote
humperdingle Posted April 27, 2016 Report Posted April 27, 2016 (edited) These are exactly the same as I used, and were cleared. Stripped with acetone and wire wool, several thin coats (with sponge) of Angelus white leather paint. I used Plastikote white matt on the elastics. They do appear to crack when stretching to get boots on, but magically ease back into place ---------- Edited February 2, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
Artshot Posted April 27, 2016 Report Posted April 27, 2016 I bought the same boots, only stripped the black as much as I can so far, I did notice that the soles are very smooth and slick, I might invest in some type of grips once I start wearing them. Quote

Yeh, the soles are pretty smooth. Might do the same. The missus got boots lined with a rubber sole at a shoe repair place, think it cost about £12 Quote
