zv288bot[TK] Posted May 19, 2016 Author Report Posted May 19, 2016 Ok... so I attempted some "fancy" bicep hooks... I'm chalking this up as a pinterest fail. When in doubt, reference a Tony thread. He used ca glue. I'm too chicken and went with E6000. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk 2 Quote
zv288bot[TK] Posted May 19, 2016 Author Report Posted May 19, 2016 While I was drooling along I decided to cut down one of Joseph's rivets for the cod piece. This looks like a good height to me.. I think it's a win. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk 3 Quote
ABS80 Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) Actually the right shoulder strap is more accurate, you removed too much material on the left one. Edited May 19, 2016 by ABS80 Quote
zv288bot[TK] Posted May 19, 2016 Author Report Posted May 19, 2016 Annnnnnnnd the other side... From here out, every time I stare at my butt and see those Tandy logos I will forever be reminded of this scene Wayne's World. (I just dated myself didn't I) Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk 2 Quote

zv288bot[TK] Posted May 19, 2016 Author Report Posted May 19, 2016 What part was a fail? These look awesome. They were quite wonky and not the same size and really thick and to short (sort of) and it was really late at night when I made them and... But seriously, thanks! I liked the super simple ones better. Mainly because they are a lot like me, super simple. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk Quote
zv288bot[TK] Posted May 19, 2016 Author Report Posted May 19, 2016 I still have bicep sanding and trimming to do but here are the shoulder bells and biceps together. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Troopacoola[TK] Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 When in doubt I always search one of Tony's (ukswrath) threads and realize another level of attention to detail that I'm forgetting. Looking at his straps in his AM thread I decided to trim some of the extra off these straps. I think it looks better. Left side done, right side to go. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk What did you trim them down to? I thought 2mm was the correct width between ridges and edges. Quote
zv288bot[TK] Posted May 20, 2016 Author Report Posted May 20, 2016 What did you trim them down to? I thought 2mm was the correct width between ridges and edges. I thought I took them down to 2mm but I will have to double check. I can snap a picture tonight. Either way it seems like I should be safe at this point. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk 1 Quote
zv288bot[TK] Posted May 23, 2016 Author Report Posted May 23, 2016 Man... I took a couple of days off of this cause a.) I was tired and b.) I was tired Anyway... glued the front thigh today. Spent hours trying to research cutting the AB/Kidney fit and the stupid notch and what it shouldn't look like but not what it should like... ugh!!! Anyway on another note I did complete the TD today. I did the best I could and I think it came out ok. The most important part it is 7.5 inches cap to cap. Whoop whoop! It took me forever to find this stuff locally. Ultimately, Ace hardware had it!! I know... I know... black screws... Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk 1 Quote
zv288bot[TK] Posted May 23, 2016 Author Report Posted May 23, 2016 (edited) Ok... doing the "other" side of the snaps stunk. I blew through a bunch of them. Also, I blew through a lot of nylon strapping because I could have driven a bus through the gaps in the back! Edited May 23, 2016 by zv288bot 2 Quote

This is gonna be my issue on my next build.I want to use webbing opposed to elastic for more rigidity. However, there's no give in webbing. Think I'm gonna glue in the lower plates first, fit the straps, and then measure up and mark off where the upper plates will sit. How did you do yours? 2 Quote

Yeah, I glued the top and bottom plates first. The only issue with this method that I experienced is the amount of straps I have left over that were a smidge to big. Honestly, it's probably double than I actually used. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk Edited May 23, 2016 by zv288bot 2 Quote
SpiceCredits Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 Well only one ear sanded and fitted. It's Mother's Day so I spent the day with the wife and kids. Time well spent. Here are some pics. Sent from my LGLS740 using Tapatalk Ears look great! Did you just use the trim line provided? That's what I did, and they look about the same! 1 Quote
