Well yeah it's just the undersuit showing on the shoulder after half his arm fell off. But it is black lol. Helmet not fitting too great either. Maybe this is the same guy who almost lost his helmet escorting Han Solo into cell with the others. He was using his right arm in that scene so maybe the strap from shoulder bell to shoulder strap detached and nobody noticed.

I wonder if the bell color actually has any meaning, or if it was a fluke? It's not like you can Google it like the pauldron and learn what the difference in color means with rank.

Perhaps the Troopers wearing pauldrons had 1 black shoulder bell and this particular trooper forgot to put it on during the shoot?  idk... just a theory.

Could have been, but no.

Maybe this black shoulder bell is the only screen appearance this trooper ever got.

I must have stopped the movie a dozen times trying to figure out how the front strap is secured in the front. Best shots are when she's scaling the base wall. It almost appears to be secured under the folding grip. Not sure

The force.

I've already posted the answer somewhere around this forums... You can clearly see the attachment in a sequence right after Chewie captures Phasma.

Yes, but now we have the answer also here... it looked so much like an open question.  ;)

Another interesting thing I noticed, this one about Finn's armor. In addition to the elbow notches, in few scenes, he also doesn't have any comlink boxes on his forearms.

- During the raid on Jakku:

- Same during Poe's escape:

However, in all the other scenes, he has them just like any regular trooper.

This might give us some indications regarding TFA's shooting chronology.

I know this is an old thread but just came up while I was doing a search and looking at that black shoulder again, is that a reflection or could it actually be a silver FO cog, the black does look matt!
