bpoodoo Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 (edited) Well yeah it's just the undersuit showing on the shoulder after half his arm fell off. But it is black lol. Helmet not fitting too great either. Maybe this is the same guy who almost lost his helmet escorting Han Solo into cell with the others. He was using his right arm in that scene so maybe the strap from shoulder bell to shoulder strap detached and nobody noticed. Edited May 23, 2016 by bpoodoo 1 Quote
jreed1701 Posted May 28, 2016 Report Posted May 28, 2016 I wonder if the bell color actually has any meaning, or if it was a fluke? It's not like you can Google it like the pauldron and learn what the difference in color means with rank. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk Quote
steamboatphan Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 Perhaps the Troopers wearing pauldrons had 1 black shoulder bell and this particular trooper forgot to put it on during the shoot? idk... just a theory. 1 Quote

Could have been, but no. Maybe this black shoulder bell is the only screen appearance this trooper ever got. 3 Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 Hey look I found FN in a scene later, must have been his younger days lol Quote

sylverbard[TK] Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 I must have stopped the movie a dozen times trying to figure out how the front strap is secured in the front. Best shots are when she's scaling the base wall. It almost appears to be secured under the folding grip. Not sureThe force. 2 Quote

You can clearly see the attachment in a sequence right after Chewie captures Phasma. http://caps.pictures/201/5-starwars-force/full/sw-force-awakens-movie-screencaps.com-11516.jpg Quote

The5thHorseman[501st] Posted June 1, 2016 Author Report Posted June 1, 2016 Another interesting thing I noticed, this one about Finn's armor. In addition to the elbow notches, in few scenes, he also doesn't have any comlink boxes on his forearms. - During the raid on Jakku: - Same during Poe's escape: However, in all the other scenes, he has them just like any regular trooper. This might give us some indications regarding TFA's shooting chronology. Quote

gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted September 3, 2019 Report Posted September 3, 2019 I know this is an old thread but just came up while I was doing a search and looking at that black shoulder again, is that a reflection or could it actually be a silver FO cog, the black does look matt! Quote
The5thHorseman[501st] Posted September 3, 2019 Author Report Posted September 3, 2019 Hard to tell, but I believe this is light reflection: 1 Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted September 4, 2019 Report Posted September 4, 2019 I flipped to inverse and messed with the contrast and brightness (a great way to see small dark details BTW) and it looks very much like a reflection to me. 1 Quote
