ComradeDave[TK] Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Ok the first time I trimmed my straps I was told I screwed up and should have left them square and with a return around the edge. They looked like this. That is supposed to be the front... Now I don't know about you but I have never seen a TK in a build thread, or a higher level application or on screen with their straps in the front cut that friggin close. I don't know what to do the other side is fine should I just flip them around? Edited January 4, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photo updated gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
ComradeDave[TK] Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 ok so I can just use this side as the back? the other side does have a good return edge. Maybe I panicked a bit and maybe they were labelled wrong Quote
ABS80 Posted April 22, 2016 Report Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) All the originals had no lips on the front tab, trust me I did my research and to be even more accurate you have to completey trim off the rear big tab and two small ones, but I leave it for sizing purposes. ComradeDave[TK] Posted April 22, 2016 Author Report Posted April 22, 2016 you're right Mark, sorry about the panic thanks again brother! Quote

troopermaster Posted April 22, 2016 Report Posted April 22, 2016 to be even more accurate you have to completely trim off the rear big tab and two small ones TM shoulder straps don't come with the inaccurate big tab at the rear nor are they too long that they need the length trimming down 1 Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted April 22, 2016 Report Posted April 22, 2016 Dave don't go hacking your strips unless your confident in what your doing, As long as they're trimmed clean and relatively close to what you see above you'll be fine at all 3 levels. 1 Quote
ComradeDave[TK] Posted April 22, 2016 Author Report Posted April 22, 2016 Will do Tony I think at this point they are being left alone. I'm going to clean up the sides a bit with fine grit sand paper and glue them on. Now another quick question. I see by the pictures and research that the straps are glued roughly 4-5 ridges deep on the chest plate is this correct? Quote

If you have broad deep shoulders you may have to go with 4-5 or less. 1 Quote

Bobo Posted April 22, 2016 Report Posted April 22, 2016 Looks like people already gave you feedback on the straps! As far as the ab buttons are concerned, I think you cut away all the flat edge around it which should be left attached. 1 Quote
ComradeDave[TK] Posted April 22, 2016 Author Report Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) right I got another ab plate too here's the pictures from last night On 4/22/2016 at 10:42 PM, Bobo said: Looks like people already gave you feedback on the straps!
