prode1[TK] Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Ok this may be a weird question but where do the screws go on the helmet on the ear? how many needed? and what is the best way to screw the screws in so that the helmet wont crack. Quote
riveting Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 (edited) They go somewhere about here 3 in each earcap, so 6 screw's in total I used this method just don't over tighten them, the lid's fairly robust lol Edited February 15, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photos updated gmrhodes13 2021 Quote

Naglium[501st] Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 me 2.. its a finer detail that only us TK's would notice!!! Quote
Ph1l2007 Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 I'm going to do this to my MR helmet as well. Can you just screw the screws directly into the plastic, or do you need to use a drill bit and make a hole first before adding screws? Quote
TK257[501st] Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 For the way I did mine, the screws don't actually hold anything in place, they're just "decorative". I drilled holes just big enough for the screws to drop right in, and hot-glued them in place. Quote
riveting Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Ok, what size drill bit did you use? I just used a bit that was fractionally wider than the screws I was using & then slightly countersunk with a 12mm bit to recess the screw heads a little. hope this helps Quote
