Pledford[TK] Posted March 19, 2016 Report Posted March 19, 2016 so when I try to add my button rivet covers to the belt they won't lay flat or flush. Did I screw up and put the rivets in backwards? And if so How do I fix this problem? Quote
Pledford[TK] Posted March 19, 2016 Author Report Posted March 19, 2016 I feel like I'm making progress though. Had to do a Trooper selfie.....if TKs could make "duck lips" ha ha 1 Quote
humperdingle Posted March 19, 2016 Report Posted March 19, 2016 Will the square mouldings not sit ok over them? If not, you could always drill them out.

I used chigago screws on mine, so they can be removed easily if necessary. Quote
starsaber25[Admin] Posted March 20, 2016 Report Posted March 20, 2016 Hi Phil. Your armor is coming along nicely! As far as the rivets are concerned you should consider drilling them out and redoing them. If the rivet covers aren't going to sit flush then it may not look right. It's not too hard to do. You will be fine! Quote
Pledford[TK] Posted March 20, 2016 Author Report Posted March 20, 2016 I wonder if there is a way to file them down? Quote
cjdesign[TK] Posted March 20, 2016 Report Posted March 20, 2016 got pictures of the inside of the rivet covers? There should be a recess to fit over the top part of the cap rivet. Quote
AWOL Posted March 20, 2016 Report Posted March 20, 2016 Looking at your 1st pic I'd say yes you have put it in the wrong way, iys time to drill it out(I suggest from the back) and the next one you pit in post it through from the front... if it works kick it, if it doesn't work kick it till it does... Place the back side on a nice firm surface (concrete or other), take a punch and a hammer to the other side (shown above) and gently compress it. 1 Quote
