CWard Posted March 18, 2016 Report Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) Let me first begin with the fact that is is a co-build with my wife. I want to be sure she has a successful build and doesn't hurt herself along the way. My wife has been wanting to get involved with my garrison after hearing my stories and seeing pictures of troops I have attended. I was able to score an Anovos kit (uncut/untrimmed), soft parts, and a brand new pair of TK Boots for an unbelievable deal. Like my build, I figured I would start a build thread showing my progress. CWard Posted March 18, 2016 Author Report Posted March 18, 2016 Right off the bat I can tell that the Anovos is a little thinner than my armor, and not as white. However, all-in-all, I am real happy with the kit. Quote
CWard Posted March 18, 2016 Author Report Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) The first thing we started with was her biceps. Edited March 22, 2016 by CWard Quote
CWard Posted March 18, 2016 Author Report Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) After the initial trim, I realized pretty quick that I would be taking a lot of plastic off. Edited March 18, 2016 by CWard Quote
CWard Posted March 18, 2016 Author Report Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) After cut them to size, we made backing strips out of left over scrap ABS from my build. Both of the biceps had got a hot water bath to close them together do to the tension. The process went smooth. I also had to trim and use my hobby iron to remove the excess ABS from the top/gap of both biceps because it bother my wife when they were on her arm and I think it looks better. CWard Posted March 18, 2016 Author Report Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) Cover strips sized and glued. Now the wait... Used CA glue for the backing strips, but E600 for the cover strips. Edited March 22, 2016 by CWard Quote
CWard Posted March 18, 2016 Author Report Posted March 18, 2016 Finished product and a wipe down and polish. 1 Quote
CWard Posted March 18, 2016 Author Report Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) These are pretty self explanatory... Each got the initial trim, cut, sanded, and polished. Edited March 18, 2016 by CWard Quote
CWard Posted March 18, 2016 Author Report Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) On to her right forearm. I noticed the Anovos was very generous with the amount of plastic on them. Like the biceps, I had to take a lot off. Like I said, a lot of material... Backing strip added... Edited March 22, 2016 by CWard Quote

CWard Posted March 21, 2016 Author Report Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) Slow day today, but was able to finish the left forearm. This one gave us a little problem with. After sizing, I had to give it a hot water bath so I could close up the pieces without tension. I unfortunately left it in a bit to long and caused the armor to warp a bit. I had to remold it a bit with a pint glass. It surprising went well an was able to close the forearm. I will post a picture of the finished product. Edited March 22, 2016 by CWard Quote
Airborne Trooper[501st] Posted March 24, 2016 Report Posted March 24, 2016 Professional grade build! Coming along nicely! Quote
CWard Posted March 29, 2016 Author Report Posted March 29, 2016 Trimmed and sanded... Added pieces of scrap ABS to the void spaces, sanded even, to create a better glueing surface to the chest plate... Doesn't look pretty, but you will never see it!!! 1 Quote
