AWOL Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 What sort of price would a deactivated sterling go for? Not an E11 just the sterling... Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Between £250-£450 (or more) depending on condition and if it's old or new spec deactivation. Here are a few samples: http://www.real-gun.com/smg.html http://www.gunstar.co.uk/All-Guns-for-sale?sstr=sterling http://www.dandbmilitaria.com/search.php?mode=search&page=1 Quote
AWOL Posted March 1, 2016 Author Report Posted March 1, 2016 I'm very tempted to get one, I fired them back in the 80's, even for nostalgia sake but in the end I know I'd be converting it... Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk Quote

Lichtbringer Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Your airsoft can shoot, none of my sterlings can do more than move the bolt and trigger. Quote
AWOL Posted March 1, 2016 Author Report Posted March 1, 2016 Airsoft is a hobby, as with most hobbies the sellers inflate their prices knowing that enthusiasts will still put their hands deeper if they have to... The side effect of a modern consumerist society... Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk Quote

Turrican Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) ....none of my sterlings can do more than move the bolt and trigger. ..which they not should be allowed to do anymore , if they would be correct deaktivted. BTW: Take a look here what's going on since 06.April.16. Cause of the terror attacks in France and Beligum, where also reused deactivated AK 47 got used , there is a new law for deactivated weapons in action since the 06. April 2016. https://www.all4shooters.com/en/Shooting/law/EU-proposed-gun-ban/ https://www.rt.com/uk/337621-eu-gun-laws-isis/ Edited April 23, 2016 by Turrican Quote
Lichtbringer Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 ..which they not should be allowed to do anymore , if they would be correct deaktivted. Äh, no. One has no welded barrel, but it´s a old deac, old spec. The other barrels were welded in, so no change for a working one without criminal energy (each deac can be brought back into working condition with enough work, most of the time it´s just way easier to get a illegal gun from the black market - at least if you know where to search). These others not only have the deac certificate, they also were stamped by the governments controlling bureau (so called BKA Raute). I´m thinking to have the old ones barrel welded in, too. There should be no more trigger action. As the trigger mechanism is welded inside, it´s only the remaining loose play of the trigger and the parts inside that´s "working". Maybe half movement of a full working, not the real action between trigger and bolt. There is nowhere said the bolt has to be welded static, here in Germany. (Not checked the changes for now coming deacs due to the new law.) Quote
Turrican Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) Here in german, http://www.liberales-waffenrecht.de/2015/12/04/eu-waffenrecht-reaktionen-der-mdep/ Here the new guidelines. http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?qid=1455817453978&uri=CELEX:52015PC0750 In short, Since April 06.2016 are all half automatic weapons wich look like full automatic weapons no more allowed. Also deaktivated ones. It's no more allowed to sell, buy, or resell deaktivated weapons from private to private. Also the so called "old spec" versions. Edited April 23, 2016 by Turrican Quote
