bobcat_justin Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 I was wondering if my armor would pass the 501st standards because I really want to join. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk Quote

Tk mac[501st] Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 Where are you have you contacted your nearest 501st garrison Quote
mikedwelle94[TK] Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 I'd replace those boots first. Go to: http://www.imperialboots.com/product/421/ Also, the holster doesn't appear to be attached correctly for ANH stunt. I'd visit the CRL page provided above Quote
Tolo[TK] Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 Like Mike said previously, your holster should be mounted with rivets on the left side. You will also need to replace your boots. They will not pass basic 501st approval. The rest of your kit looks good. I suggest you check out the CRL (costume reference library) herehttp://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt Quote
EmpireJAG[TK] Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 It's looks pretty good. As stated above you need a new holster attachment. Darman's Props on facebook has what you need just in case. Also trim down the top of the thighs just a bit as I had the same problem. First pic looks perfect but as you move do they rub? davidkturner1970 Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) S-trim on bottom of bucket appears missing; TD looks too long and narrow. Remove black strap between chest and back on right side. Double check those points as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited February 25, 2016 by davidkturner1970 Quote
Bone[501st] Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) First of all, you look good in your armor!Yes, there are a few things that should be changed, but it's not a big deal. Take a look at the CRL and most of the needed changes become obvious to you. Take your time, ask a lot of questions.1. The shoes definitely need to go. They are not only not approvable, they are ugly as hell. 2. The thermal detonator really seems to have the wrong dimensions. Not necessarily to small in diameter, but too long. There are photos of an original one with measurements in the photo gallery. 3. Your backplate needs to rest on top of the return edge of the kidney plate, not overlap it. It then will sit considerably higher and won't show too much of your black undersuit. Right now, you have too much "cleavage" in the back. This also means you need to shorten the shoulderstraps holding your brest- and backplate together. 4. Your holster needs to be attached diferently. No need to buy a new one, you can just cut of the leather strips on the outer side. 5. If you can walk comfortably, there is also no need to shorten the thighs. They look good the way they are ... 6. The breastplate and the backplate are only attached to each other at the shoulder. Backplate is attached to the kidney, the kidney is attached to the bottom plate. Kidney is also attoched to the abs. Take a look at EIB or Centurion applications, to see the different possibilities to do the internal strapping. 7. Around the opening of the helmet there is supposed to be a rubber lip, that also needs to be of a certain design. Please refer to the CRL for that. You have a good stormtrooper posture when standing and obviuosly know how to pose. Good start! Edit: Just read that you are in the army. No wonder you know how to present your armor. TKZombie[TK] Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 Your shoulders are too far back. You should have more gap in the back move them forward so there isn't such a huge gap. But do that after you raise your back plate up and see where things land Quote
