The gap between the lens and eyes is also normal. You actually want this gap, as it allows air in, helping reduce fogging of the lenses.

As a frequent attender of trooping events (yet never having participated in one thus far), I can safely say that even though I have much research under my belt and have a semi-trained eye now, it's still so easy to get caught up in the moment that even I don't notice these kinds of imperfections at the time. Other folks won't either. :)

That makes a lot of sense, thank you. And here I was worried about this whole thing when it actually looks like I am in pretty good shape with my Anovos kit. It is nice because this answers questions I've had since I first purchased this kit at Star Wars Celebration.
