the select fire switch snapped off durring a troop.

I had that happen shortly after I got it.. so I JB welded it right to the main body of the blaster to ensure it was stronger.

Since i was holding tbe trigger left handed all the force of the gun was across that small part. I think itll keep happening even with epoxy tbh

Sudden turn of events!!!

 

There is an event where I first met the 501st however it didn't show up much on the calendar.. until YESTERDAY!!! whooohoo.. 

I might get my very first troop in at the place it all started!

So excited!!

Umm not sure about tips for Jawa... I know tips for TKs sorry....

 

Standard tips, keep hydrated, don't wear yourself out, know when to take a break, have fun!

The body breathes. The hood doesnt. Find the wind or ac vent and look at it to cool down. Locomote a lot. Wave to kids. Wave to big kids. Play peek a boo. Kneel. Point and exuberantly nod. Dont shake your head.

No tips for TKs are a little different,.. Sit down very carefully, best not to do so... Need a break, remove top armour to sit. Watch out for stairs, they are your enemy.... Not sure how eye sight is with Jawa... Keep an eye out for little people, one hand on blaster at all times, even while holstered, check your TD every so often... These things can be removed without notice... So umm... Things are a little different with TKs...

At some point you may wish to replace the black covering with that invisible mesh that Halloween costumes have inside hoods to keep face black... You can see out, but no one can see your face... Something to experiment with in future? Just an idea...

I totally plan on that but I couldn't find any when I was searching Party City, or any of the other costume places.. I looked at numerous other hardware stores and such as well for screen that might do the trick.  Anyway.. it's an easy fix if I can ever find the stuff you speak of.

Great advice provided. I'd add ... have fun! You'll be smiling a lot!!

 

I'll also add watch out for your fellow Garrison members. Make sure they are safe & nothing's falling off or stolen. They'll do the same for you. If you need a break (hot, tired, malfunction, overwhelmed by people), have someone (handler?) walk back with you. Never troop alone.

 

And if you see a wandering droid, steal it.

No luck on costumes here... I'll keep looking, but it's doubtful... Kids were also younger at the time we had the costumes that blacked out the faces. You may need to purchase a full costume and take the face part out.

I've been hunting for a while.. I thought of sun glasses but the reflectivity of them would be too much and show. The Mesh and fabric is the best way for that.. just have to figure out where to get the one way mesh to make the conversion.
