StarWarsTom[TK] Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 (edited) Thank you for the great topic how to get the Anovos kit more acurate. Unfortunately I found no hints for the helmet mic tip. In the original costume and the packaging the mic tip is pointing forward. The mic tip of the Anovos helmet is pointing down. Is it a production failure? Have you modified your Anovos mic tips? Edited December 22, 2015 by StarWarsTom Quote
StarWarsTom[TK] Posted December 22, 2015 Author Report Posted December 22, 2015 Why does it look squashed? I changed now the angle, so that the 2 pics are compareable. Quote
PatrickW1074[501st] Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 I just received my injection molded bucket from Anovos and I was wondering the same thing. Also, how accurate is this regarding the overall size of the helmet? Quote
JimmyC Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 my fiberglass helmet isn't like that. but then again, its really heavy too... Quote
PatrickW1074[501st] Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 These are pretty light. Quote
UT Trooper[TK] Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 I'm looking to buy one, do you recommend it? I can't find a review post on here. Seems like a great option for a completed helmet that's not fiberglass for trooping. Quote
PatrickW1074[501st] Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 It's not bad for the price, it's light, it comes with a built in adjustable helmet liner. Quote
Darth-LaRs[TK] Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 (edited) Is there any source for aluminium MicTips to upgrade the Anovos helmet? I would like to replace the stock one. Edited December 23, 2015 by Darth-LaRs Quote
Rogue Studio Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 (edited) The one on the left is not a hero and if it's an original it's a fiberglass stunt. You can tell by the seam lines are fused and not separate pieces. Actually looking at both helmets neither are accurate. Also the brow trim is the dead giveaway both are replicas. Tarragon[TK] Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 The one on the left is the fibreglass bucket, whereas the one on the right is the ABS injection moulded bucket. 1 Quote
TK9926 Posted December 26, 2015 Report Posted December 26, 2015 (edited) I have ordered the Anovos , but after looking at the photos I would prefer the fiberglass one. Once in hand I might have to sell it. Should arrive in January, if disappointed it will be returned or in the for sale thread. Bummer Is there a link to the fiberglass stunt? Thanks Edited December 26, 2015 by TK9926 Quote
Rogue Studio Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) Ok just found photos of the helmet on right in another post looks to me that version is really much more accurate to the real deal. Edited December 27, 2015 by Rogue Studio Quote
R2Dan[TK] Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 The left is not an original. It is also an anovos produced helmet. Quote
Wade Posted January 8, 2016 Report Posted January 8, 2016 So the mic is a production failure? It really bothers me because when i look like pictures like this from the 501st Costume Reference Library, it (almost) looks faced straight forwards. . Quote
TheRealAnakin[TK] Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 I'm in the process of replacing my mictip with a more accurate resin one. <br> I have no idea how it'll turn out. But hopefully it'll look nice and screen-accurate. Quote
Cody42[TK] Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 None of the two helmets is completely accurate. I have to agree with Dan, the supposed original looks very much like anovos and not like an actual production used helmet. The angle of the mic tip on the anovos standard line however is quite accurate, though the shape and positioning is still a little bit off. Look at this helmet for example: http://cdni.wired.co.uk/1920x1280/d_f/EP7_IA_117198.jpg 1 Quote
Parquette[TK] Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) I made a thread about this with comparison photos in terms of shape on this forum I totally agree with you Cody, the shape is still a little bit off. Edited May 17, 2016 by Par_ Quote
