Wireless mic / aker amp - feedback issue

Hey guys

 

Currently I have a aker amp and icom unit installed in my chest piece along with a memorex wireless receiver.

 

I then have the wireless transmitter installed in the back of my bucket.

 

My issue is that I am constantly getting nasty feedback through the amp when ever I try to use the system and have not been able to figure out why.

 

Looking for any trouble shooting suggestions from the group so I can use this on the next troop.

Hey Shaun, just for giggles have you tried to install a wired mic? If so do your problems still exist? Trying to determine if it's a wireless issue or other.

I had the memorex wireless set up with an Aker/IComm.  Hated it.  Worked great at home, but if you get two or more of you together it makes a horrible warbling sound that won't quit.

Check the quality and style of your microphone as well. You'll likely want to use an omnidirectional mic or a throat mic instead. A lot of microphones will just pick up anything in earshot and, of course, give your feedback.
