Thoughts on the magma trooper?

I think it looks pretty dang good, but having that hose/tubing connected to the helmet would probably limit head movement. I also really like the shin guards as well.

I think they're awesome (though I'm a sucker for a DLT-19). Especially love the shin guards. Curious why we need to protect armor with more armor, but they're cool nonetheless!

I'm impressed with the level of detail on that pauldron. I work an alternate work schedule so Tuesday night and Wednesday will be non-stop Battlefront.

The red armored troopers I thought were known as Magma Troopers. I guess they changed it to Crimson Troopers now and this respirator trooper is a Magma now

Until such time as someone completes this and we move it to its own thread, I put it in ROTJ as it's based on the ROTJ trooper...

If there was enough interest in this costume, I would consider sculpting and making the shin guards. I already offer full ROTJ kits so I could provide the shin guards with a full kit or individually.

 

As a side note, I can offer full kits in red ABS too

I actually really like this new rebreather look. Was planning on getting started with a ROTJ kit anyhow, and looks like a fun project to try.

From what i can see:

Black Pauldron - not smooth, more of a Leatherette finish

Custom Shin guards

 

I imagine turning my head is going to be a big issue unless i can get some very flexible hose, and Its going to be a pain to do that pack but i do like a challenge

That's the same type of leather pauldron us sandies use except it doesn't have the channeled stitching. The texture of my white pauldron looks just like that.
