hon143 Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 (edited) I'm looking for it too but I can't find here in the EU...<br> Where do it comes from? I bought it on Amazon for about $25. Repainted all the black areas on the helmet. I had some extra dark green lenses material from my TK build and added it to the helmet. I also screwed the two pieces together and added some padding inside. And, added black mesh over the mouth holes. Edited January 21, 2016 by hon143 Quote
elleerre Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Found the same on Amazon last week but no shipping to EU... Quote
Ilnino Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Found the same on Amazon last week but no shipping to EU...Could you not order it from Amazon and get it sent to someone in the USA and get them to ship it to you. That's what I've done and to the value of $15. ......chasing my inner soul! Quote
elleerre Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Tought about it and posted it already here on FISD but unfortunately none answered... Da Tapatalk Quote
Jancelot[TK] Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 Excellent thread. Thank you for the detailed pics. I've just started tearing one of these apart for my son as well. Quote
Luke S Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) <br><br>I saw the 48" TFA trooper last year at Walmart with my 42" son and said. "Hey you could fit into that." Immediately I knew what he was going to be for Halloween this year. During that time another father beat me to the punch and posted his build on YouTube. There's also a thread dedicated to the conversion on whitearmor.net. <br><br><br> We got a small sale today and since they're starting to thin out, we jumped on it. My son is only 42" as of this post so we can easily get two years, maybe even three out of it. That helps justify the cost a bit. Plus I can probably sell it for a profit down the road when he outgrows it. <br><br><br><br> Here's the before......<br> <br><br><img src="<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t200/laspiess/bd67fd260beb21461ad2ae0430091812_zpss2tqabut.jpg' class="bbc_url" title="External link">http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t200/laspiess/bd67fd260beb21461ad2ae0430091812_zpss2tqabut.jpg"</a> alt="bd67fd260beb21461ad2ae0430091812_zpss2tq"> Edited August 18, 2016 by Luke S Quote

shenphong Posted September 17, 2016 Report Posted September 17, 2016 Nice, just threw it on top of a lamp? I'm picking up the same project, started printing a replacement grip for the blaster. Wish I had a brighter white, but it'll do. Quote

Luke S Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 (edited) I've found that a 1/4" wood chisel works great at taking out all the interior ribs. Dremels just melt the plastic and make a huge mess. If I were to build another one I would just use a utility knife and my wood chisel. No matter what you use, it's a ton of work.<br><br> When using the chisel, I worked the blade flipped upside down. Using it the correct way it tended to bite a bit too much and make gouges. Flipped it was easier to manage and control. Edited September 20, 2016 by Luke S 1 Quote
fishmeok[TK] Posted September 22, 2016 Report Posted September 22, 2016 Awesome! any chance of making another one for those of us who are 3D printer challenged? Nice, just threw it on top of a lamp? fishmeok[TK] Posted September 22, 2016 Report Posted September 22, 2016 Two troops so far and still holding together. Definitely a work in progress though. 1 Quote

I ended up buying lace-up faux-patent leather boots that I got off eBay for my son. I had to cut off the tops of the boots though so it'll fit into the calves pieces. Quote

They worked for one outing, but the paint was coming off by the end. I have since picked up a pair of girls boots at a thrift store, cut them down to instep length and painted white. Quote
Dark PWF[Staff] Posted September 27, 2016 Report Posted September 27, 2016 Looks great! I've just begun strapping the one I'm working on for my four year old. Anyone reading this, don't underestimate the amount of work that doing this really is. It is substantial. LoL. Great work!! 1 Quote
