Haribon72[TK] Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) Hello Everyone, This is a “Troopers Helping Troopers” team armor build. His kit arrived last month as he was slowly collecting parts and other components. He's already aware with the legion CRL requirements and our Advanced Tactics program. We will be documenting the build here. The dates below will show major build days where we worked 10 to 11 hours straight. These builds are 1:1 sessions with no distractions and coordinated to meet our family, career, and hobby lifestyle balance. This does not include weekday sessions which are typically 1-2 hours for test fits and small builds. A few local garrison members may drop by to lend a hand and guidance. I create these online build threads to assist the recruits with understanding and feedback on their costumes. This also helps our GML with the application and review process. I'm aware that everyone is not computer savvy. So I will also be helping the new recruit on how to use FISD the forums effectively. First Armor Build: 09/20/2015 (Eleven Hours) Second Armor Build: 10/11/2015 (Ten Hours) Third Armor Build: 10/15/2015 (Ten Hours) Fourth Armor Build: 10/25/2015 (Ten Hours) Five Armor Build: 11/08/2015 (Six Hours) Sixth Armor Build: 11/15/2015 (Six Hours) This was the last build day for final fitting and adjustments. Haribon72[TK] Posted October 13, 2015 Author Report Posted October 13, 2015 Building the center core of the costume. Starting with the 22mm requirement at the kidney and abs. We're using a blue paint template (22mm x 22mm). Again, we building from scratch straight to Centurion level. Quote

Haribon72[TK] Posted October 13, 2015 Author Report Posted October 13, 2015 Using a seamstress chalk to mark the elastic strap betwee the kidney and abs plates. Reinforced the inside with leftover ABS strips. This will help support the two joints while trooping. Using the drumstrooper method: rivet, strap, rubber washer, steel washer...and then hammer it in. We bought the rubber washers from OSH (California). Done! Quote
Haribon72[TK] Posted October 13, 2015 Author Report Posted October 13, 2015 Bottom rivet to abs plate My wife taught me how to sew. So i'm sharing my new idea to protect the bottom under suit and family jewels. Using velcro to cover the rivet. Quote
Haribon72[TK] Posted October 13, 2015 Author Report Posted October 13, 2015 This is how I remove the excess portions of the armor and make smooth curves before cutting. I'm using electrical tape as my guide and pin stripe to get unique curves. This is a great for first timers to cut curves on ABS plastic. Lay out the tape and cut into long strips. Done! Quote
Haribon72[TK] Posted October 13, 2015 Author Report Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) To prevent the kidney and abs plates from separating (while trooping), this is what I call the "Holder"! Here's the inside Additional velcro holders will be added to keep it together. Edited October 13, 2015 by Haribon72 Quote
