allan1313[TK] Posted April 29, 2016 Author Report Posted April 29, 2016 Looked for some spare wood to use as the rear sight housing. Couldn't find any large enough so I glued 3 pieces together that will then be drilled out and sculpted for look. Getting close. Just a few more pieces to build, then add a few details before painting. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Quote

allan1313[TK] Posted May 2, 2016 Author Report Posted May 2, 2016 Next up is what I will call the rear sight holder, the piece at the end of the barrel that holds the rear sight. Couldn't find a piece big enough for the entire piece so we glued 3 pieces together and planed it smooth. Next we drilled out the center to fit the barrel and traced what needs to be cut to shape. allan1313[TK] Posted June 23, 2016 Author Report Posted June 23, 2016 OK I have been away for awhile. I have completed about 98% of my DLT-19. I just haven't done the front sight, but I wanted to finish it to go along with my HWT. So here goes my update from the last time.... Here is the "box" and "ammo slot" on the left side of the gun. I used glue and "green" stuff epoxy to attach them. I then used some bondo to to fill and smooth the holes. Next I did some test fitting with the rear sight holder with the gun and barrel. The movable rear sight was a little short so it would tilt too far back. Added some milliput to correct that. I repurposed my girl's play doh toy for the charging handle. Next I attached the bi-pod with glue and milliput. I used some milliput to make the "rings" on the barrel near the sight holder. Along the way I added a few greeblies here and there. I then painted it in sections. I did the barrel and the rest of the gun separate. I did this because of the inner barrel. I did 3 stage painting, primer, silver, and flat black. I did this for a natural weathering look when some black paint rubs off. I wanted to keep the inner barrel out so it didn't get the other paints on it. I then put the inner barrel in and finished the assembly. I used glue and epoxy to put the 2 halves together. I then painted it all up. Here is the end result. I am pretty happy with the effort and think its about 80-80% accurate. I will also finish up the front sight. 1 last picture.... Thanks for looking! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk 2 Quote

DarthDawg[TK] Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 Great build. Question if I may. What did you use for the "locking pin" that is located on the right side, just above the grip/trigger? And how far does it stick out? Quote
allan1313[TK] Posted June 24, 2016 Author Report Posted June 24, 2016 that is down right amazing! Awesome mod! Now I want to take mine and throw it in the trash lolThanks! Haha don't go doing that. Great build. Question if I may. What did you use for the "locking pin" that is located on the right side, just above the grip/trigger? And how far does it stick out? Thanks. Its a rolling pin from a play doh set. Its just slightly longer than the width of my hand. I can get an exact measurement when I return from vacation. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Quote
