Is the new AM 2.0 helmet 501st approved or would j need to invest in another helmet? I know that the first run isn't approved, being the "bobble head" but my understanding is that they remade it to fit approval specs.

The new AM2 helmet is VERY good. there have been many approvals since it came out. Not the same at all as the old FX/AM same goes for the rest of the molds.. AM2 is way ahead of previous sets.

That's a bit of an overstatement. But it's better than 1.0, yes.

overstatement how? I know personally of at least 10 here locally all using AM2 sets and helmets all approved with ease... There are many here mainly because the seller is in the local Garrison.. And far more out there especially in the Northern California garrison where the other partner is based. Which part exactly is an "overstatement"

Because AM2 is still only like 25% new parts compared to 1.0. And it's not that great still compared to accurate kits like TM.

only 25%? More like 80%. I just got an AM 2.0 and each piece has been redesigned to look more accurate. I've seen the comparisons... my 2 cents.

What would you folks think about AM armor and another companies helmet would that be a no go?

That's pretty common. So it works, yeah. What helmet did you have in mind?
