charlesnarles Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 I just learned about the V2 ESB the other day. What a rare opportunity to own one / it Quote
PGHtrooper21 Posted September 17, 2015 Report Posted September 17, 2015 It looks like an ROTJ Lid. The coloring and the way the Black paint goes past the teeth to the lips. Andy Quote
charlesnarles Posted September 18, 2015 Report Posted September 18, 2015 They used the V2 to recast the ROTJ lids according to starwarshelmets.com. Worth a read Quote
PGHtrooper21 Posted September 18, 2015 Report Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) The Helmet' color shown looks like a ROTJ helmet. Either they have the wrong pic or it is a ROTJ mislabeled as ESB. It would be nice to Screen I.D. the Helmet. Andy Edited September 18, 2015 by PGHtrooper21 Quote
charlesnarles Posted September 21, 2015 Report Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Supposedly it's the one seen guarding Han while he's being frozen, possibly the one Chewie pushes?<br> Edit: I see, the one in that scene is *a* V2, but not this one up for auction. I'm unlucky trying to find good ROTJ screenshots online, I'm sure some exist Edited September 22, 2015 by charlesnarles Quote
Verne Posted September 21, 2015 Report Posted September 21, 2015 ESB MKII helmet were re used for ROTJ (plus the new batch of helmets done for ROTJ). They replaced the flat lenses by bubble lenses. Quote
troopermaster Posted September 21, 2015 Report Posted September 21, 2015 This helmet is not the one used in the carbon freezing chamber scene and it most definitely is not an ROTJ helmet. There were a bunch of these suits made for ESB but only one made it on screen and that can be identified more easily because it did not have any teeth cut out unlike the one in the auction. They used these MKII suits for promotional purposes for ESB. More info about them can be found here: http://www.starwarshelmets.com/Return-of-the-jedi-stormtrooper-comparison.htm Quote
troopermaster Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Helmet sold for a whopping £65,000! 1 Quote
Ryth_[501st] Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 I'm off to Finse to look for some lost TS greeblies in the snow. Quote
Dday[501st] Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Helmet sold for a whopping £65,000! Quite a price to pay for a helmet that never made it onto the big screen. Well, at least if it's a maker, they can make some copies after fixing up the missing parts, maybe they will call you in for this Paul! Most likely a private collector though. Quote
troopermaster Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 I doubt anyone would spend that much money and cast it. But you never know..... Quote
Ryth_[501st] Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 CFO going into the ESB-buisness. Quote
