Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 I added posts but they are these weird ones I found at fastenal. I love them and will use them in all my builds from here on out. Held in with JBweld. Protip, don't drill both holes in the lenses at once. You get better alignment if you do one at a time. I angled the posts to have about a 1/4 inch space at the bottom and rest right on the plastic at the top of the lens. Filed the eyes more just after this. I also painted the posts black the next day so no chance of seeing them. Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 Went full black because of my shaky hands Easier to paint over than cut in. I fixed the far right bar the next day. This is the cleanest line I can get unless I get someone else to do it, and I refuse to do that so I hope it's clear enough. One coat, I love humbrol. 1 Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 I swear I'm not Mr. No stripe lol, I just don't think the pictures uploaded. Ended up doing the lines by hand because the trooperbay stencils sisn't stick worth anything. For the same reason I ended up using the AP tubes instead of painting them. I'll have to take photos of the stripes and ears. 2 Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 I LOVE how low my brow ended up. I've always liked that look more. The TD I didn't take many photos, I was busy that day but here's one or two at least. The tube was too long so I took a hacksaw to it. I can't remember the exact length but it matches the CRL. Didn't need glue on the ends because I painted the whole thing so those bastards are tight. Also I can't remember if I shared this but it fits with no shims. I know I should have had my suit on but I did it again later with it on and it fit even better. Also you're seeing all my different pjs today lol 1 Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 That's all I have for today although I did a bunch of stuff today that I'll post tomorrow. Here's a picture of my 4 year old Zacary watching ESB for the first time. Yes he's named after Spock... lol 2 Quote

Airborne Trooper[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 You might even be able to trim some off the kidney plate. Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 A tiny bit more has came off already but I'm hesitant to do more because I'm still not 100% on how to size that properly. I think i need my wifes help to hold things and tape Same reason my legs haven't been started past rough trimming. Just haven't had the time to search it out properly. I think I'll click through those videos and see if I can find the sizing ones for a better understanding Quote

Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 Pickles is pretty close but I don't really know her that well. Narc (I think that's his name on here) and Mechapumpkin are as well. Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 I'll message Them all and see what's up. I really am having issues doing those alone. Not as flexible as I wish I was haha Quote

Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 This is inside my bucket. Frown was installed using thick CA to make sure ti didn't drip. The only place I will be using CA anywhere on this armour. I could only fit two of the small helmet pads with my 4 fan system. May have to rebuild to lose the power box. Battery will be in my back so I have a flat usb power cord running out of the helmet that'll go under my neckseal. Two fans at my chin and two at the back of my head. All 4 touch my head and make a revving noise but that's what you get with a big head lol. I think I can stop that by wearing a hood. Now the worst problem... Taking it off gives me a bloody nose... that's how tight it is and I already trimmed my neck trim so I had to order more so I can widen the hole. Here are the final pics of the helmet paint after adding the bars, hand painted with no stencil because again the trooper bay ones just didnt stick. So I've been wanting to get opinions on if that ear bar is too thick, I've seen both thick and thinner on reference photos and I like it thick but if it's out of canon I can change it. Here's the finished thermal using some dimensions from a post Gaz put up a few years ago. It kills me that these aren't totally even lol 1 Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 Tore apart both biceps and one forearm and took the return edge off of the top and bottom of both forearms. More of the return will be coming off of the biceps I just didn't feel like finishing them yesterday. I hate dremals so much today. Need that novus sooner rather than later. Straps look loose but they aren't at all on me. 2 Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 Added the top snaps to the abs but didn't do the final sanding, added all the snaps to the chest and did do the final sanding. The chest will join the shoulders, TD, and helmet on the done pile! That's finally up to date. I did just glue on two inner cover strips to the biceps though so I guess I'm now not up to date lol. I may sand the back and butt and add the snaps to those guys today. 2 Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Posted February 2, 2016 Actually in that last post do I have too much return on the top of the abs? Quote

TK 2759[501st] Posted February 3, 2016 Report Posted February 3, 2016 Actually in that last post do I have too much return on the top of the abs? I don't think so... For the Centurion brackets my understanding is, the more return edge, the better for the brackets. Quote
