Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 22, 2015 Author Report Posted September 22, 2015 I believe that you can order online or on the phone. The 3/4 inch ones were like $31 for 20. They come in packs of 5. I'll take some pics of the pouches later tonight Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 22, 2015 Author Report Posted September 22, 2015 Looks like you are nearly ready for Big Brown Box day, Eric! If I may, I would suggest holding off on purchasing a few things on your list of things to buy... like: 1. Hot glue gun- I guess this would be good for a temporary hold, but not a permanent one. 2. Hand sander- I would suggest picking up plain old fine grit sanding sponges and literally wrapping them in the 3M silicone sandpaper. Much cheaper, easy to use, and longer lasting. (Trust me). 3. Heat gun- Hold off on this unless you absolutely need it. Those three things are ones I already had lol. I added the heat gun before I realised how fast it can mess up your ABS so it'll stay packed away for sure. The sander I'll only use for the rough sanding of the shims if I go too overboard on the paste. I'll cut some 2x4 for that sanding block asap though. The glue gun I was going to use to put things in my helmet that I may want to pull out eventually. Would it be enough of a hold for that or should I just e6000 things and go with solvents if I change my mind? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 22, 2015 Author Report Posted September 22, 2015 Also I got my big white belt today! 61 inches lol. It looks great. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted September 22, 2015 Report Posted September 22, 2015 I think you should (pardon the pun) stick with E-6000. You won't (and shouldn't use) any solvents, which may damage the finish of your armor. The E-6000 should hold just fine. Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 22, 2015 Author Report Posted September 22, 2015 Good time to ask this before I forget, how well does e6000 stick to plasti-dip? I'll stick the hot glue back in the craft box (ah now I have to make a craft box lol) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 24, 2015 Author Report Posted September 24, 2015 Just bought tights on Amazon that may make me look like a sex offender if I am seen without my armour lol... Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 24, 2015 Author Report Posted September 24, 2015 Vajs 3D printed mic tips are ordered. I'm hugely interested to see them in person. Quote
ComradeDave[TK] Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 way farther than I am... I still need the canvas belt, garter, undersuit and to assemble the mic tips. Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 24, 2015 Author Report Posted September 24, 2015 I worked some OT a few weeks back so I have some extra money, it'll slow down again soon lol Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Quote

My wife and son, work, and this lol. More this than work actually but don't tell my bosses lol Edited September 24, 2015 by Knockerbot Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 24, 2015 Author Report Posted September 24, 2015 Like right now I'm risking walking in late to make this post lol Quote
Airborne Trooper[501st] Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 I know that feeling man. I've been building my sandtrooper since March and I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. So many hurdles in my build. Whenever we seem to have some spare money, something comes up. I have MTK but just ordered and got my AM2.0 legs because the other ones don't fit without having to shim. I still have a pack to build that Mrs. Airborne is making me hold off dropping the money on. Luckily, it's not required for 501st basic approval. Doesn't help that Tony/UKSWRATH keeps coming out with cool stuff I want for my bucket. I just started a state job so hopefully I'll be able to get all the stuff I want soon enough. 1 Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 25, 2015 Author Report Posted September 25, 2015 Yeah there's going to be a day real soon where I'm going to have to send as much money to ukswrath as I am to AP for my armour lol.

I'm still needing to shim. I believe even with the built in extenions it'll need 2-4 more inches to fit and be near centurion at all Quote
Airborne Trooper[501st] Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 I shimmed my kidney and it's not hard but shimming thighs was a pain in the butt and I just don't like the look of it so I dropped another $200 on legs and shins. I also have a hyperfirm on the way and a nice white pauldron from MEPD Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 25, 2015 Author Report Posted September 25, 2015 I think I'll just do the spacers on my thighs, seems easier than doing real shimming and they don't seem to mind it Quote

My wife and son, work, and this lol. More this than work actually but don't tell my bosses lol LOL I have this window up literally all day while I'm righting out project plans, research and video/graphics editing when someone walks up I need to close the window. like every few minutes. Are we long lost brothers or something!? We're doing the same things I bought a bunch of stuff at once as you already know. Edited September 25, 2015 by ComradeDave Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 25, 2015 Author Report Posted September 25, 2015 Haha I'm on my phone in my edit bay all day so maybe. Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 25, 2015 Author Report Posted September 25, 2015 There used to be a "boss button" on one of the browsers. You'd hit Ctrl +b I think and a graph would pop up on the screen. 1 Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted September 29, 2015 Author Report Posted September 29, 2015 Got Kevin's inner drop boxes just now. They look nice. A lot more rigid than I expected but I think the whole suit is more rigid than I'm expecting. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Quote
ComradeDave[TK] Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 you'll have extras based on AP's email update. Got Kevin's inner drop boxes just now. They look nice. Knockerbot[501st] Posted October 9, 2015 Author Report Posted October 9, 2015 you'll have extras based on AP's email update.Yeah I figure I'll find someone who needs Kevin's in Toronto, save someone some shipping. Although I also have a set of Vajs mic tips that came in today so I might have extras if we can't work something out but I'm sure we will. I'm also buying his rubber hand guards and O2 clips Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted October 11, 2015 Author Report Posted October 11, 2015 So with my blaster being shipped to me yesterday (only 200km it should ship fast) I figured I'd make the spring today out of 14 gauge wire from home depot. Lets see if you can find my error faster than I did lol... The tube is 19mm, the wire is 1.6mm thick so that'll go twice so I needed to find a bar that is 15.8mm this chair was close. I count 11 wraps in the reference photos. I'll be making the centre piece with my lathe when I have the blaster to measure. So here was my error. It's closed on two ends. I got it looking perfect with perfect spacing (no photo) and then I had to just mangle it taking it off of the chair but after another 30 minutes of wire wrangling I think it ended up okay. But close isn't close enough so I'll be turning a rod myself to form it around and re-do it. Wood working on my lathe is easy for me so I don't mind the extra mile. Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted October 11, 2015 Author Report Posted October 11, 2015 Then there was this tragedy earlier in the week. Pardon the sticker, I put it on as a joke but it saved lol The other one looks perfect but this little guy got smashed in transit. Not Vajs fault in the least. He had it packed like it was a faberge egg lol. Something heavy must have fallen hard on it. He's replacing it with no issues, great guy if you ever have the chance to deal with him do it. BUT seeing as I have nothing to do tonight I want to see if I can fix it even though I'm 99% sure it's done for. It's cracked in two directions and caved in. Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted October 11, 2015 Author Report Posted October 11, 2015 Hyperfirm do not ship in Canada. Ask Mark about his blaster. They are resin and really nice Sent from my iPhone 6 using Tapatalk Thanks Tolo this is what I bought in the end. Although I do want to build one someday still Quote
Knockerbot[501st] Posted October 12, 2015 Author Report Posted October 12, 2015 Didn't turn out too bad considering two of the parts were as small as pin heads and I actually super glued one to my index finger lol. I'll keep it as a spare because I really don't trust it to not burst into pieces again. Quote
