troopermaster Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 I prefer styrene/hips over abs just because I find it does form better ABS forms equally as well as HIPS or Styrene but it is not as easy form using a vacuum cleaner like most hobbyists use to form plastics. Quote
TK4205 Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 ABS forms equally as well as HIPS or Styrene but it is not as easy form using a vacuum cleaner like most hobbyists use to form plastics. Shop vac. Just sounds so more masculine than "vacuum cleaner". Quote
Darth Aloha[Admin] Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 Shop vac. Just sounds so more masculine than "vacuum cleaner". You should thank him for translating it into American English. He didn't call it a hoover. -Eric Quote

mitcheg1[501st] Posted November 29, 2015 Author Report Posted November 29, 2015 WTH!!!!! I was spray painting my second bucket and after some minor issues with Rustoleum (along with all of the feedback on the forums), decided to switch to Krylon. I used Krylon Maxx primer and gloss white paint. First issue I noticed, the gloss white actually appeared flat. Then I was attempting to fill some spots I had missed with glazing putty and while spreading it on, this happened! I had let the white cure for well over 24 hours. What did I do wrong? Is this a reaction between the paint and the glazing putty, or did I not wait long enough? I'm so frustrated with this! Quote
mitcheg1[501st] Posted December 2, 2015 Author Report Posted December 2, 2015 This is the kit! That becomes this bucket! 5 Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 Nice job! I just sold mine to a fellow garrison mate, these are really nice buckets. Quote
TK-Sonic[TK] Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 Very cool work, lots of talent there. Curious to how much silicon it took to cover the helmet and make a mold?? Quote
mitcheg1[501st] Posted December 3, 2015 Author Report Posted December 3, 2015 I used a little over a half gallon of Rebound 25 for my mold. Quote

tkrestonva[TK] Posted December 6, 2015 Report Posted December 6, 2015 I would love to see someone else's finished bucket, especially paired with armor! I absolutely plan on doing so, but it won't be until early next year once things slow down a bit and I can finally get to work on it. Quote
