gazmosis[501st] Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 Kit's are from Mike at Trooperbay. However, he prefers for people to contact him at: mtk_armor@cox.net Quote
aintrabar[TK] Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 My mtk kit should be here next week. Can't wait Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
troopertom Posted July 22, 2015 Author Report Posted July 22, 2015 Here is what I got done in the first 24 hours. Still need to finish the teeth and clean everything up. But overall I am happy with how it's coming along. 1 Quote

cm325i Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 good, its put together now. not super thrilled the way it went together, but it will be alright. I will post pictures tonight of how it looks. gonna start working on the ears tonight. Building helmets takes practice and so much patience. I think I put together , took apart, adjusted, tinkered, and cursed at my MTK about 20 times before I was really happy with it. Can't wait to see the pics! Quote
troopertom Posted July 31, 2015 Author Report Posted July 31, 2015 I had to step back and take a break from it to be honest. Got other things on my mind and don't need to try working on it without a clear head. Going to take the Mrs. to Disneyland this weekend and unwind. Speaking of which, does anyone know where the armor the troops at Disneyland wear comes from? Quote
Darth Havoc[TK] Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 You are using your bucket....always good to take step back. I built my MTK bucket in December and worked on it slowly till February or March. Overall, it's an awesome bucket and pretty easy to build.......except those blasted ears.....ugh. Good luck on your build Quote

The "cast members" have to wear them longer than we do and dance around for shows. I could be wrong tho. Quote
charlesnarles Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Yup, they're weird unique-to-Disney suits you can't own. Half hero, half stunt, ..half ROTJ. DLand sent them to SDCC for the secret concert (so rude to mega-fan Kevin Smith!), so you can get a good look at about 40 of them in daylight. Good idea to not burn yourself out; fatigue makes your brain not wurk so good no mores which generally equates to making mistakes. Luckily there's no time limit (other than put in place by ourselves)😎 Quote
troopertom Posted August 10, 2015 Author Report Posted August 10, 2015 ready for paint! I think... Quote
starsaber25[Admin] Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 Hey Tom. From the one picture it looks great! Post a few more!! Are you building ANH or ESB? Quote
troopertom Posted August 12, 2015 Author Report Posted August 12, 2015 Thanks Steve. I will post more pics. I primed the inside last night to prepare it for plasti dip. I taped the crap out of it but somehow got a small amount of overspray on the top of the cap. will mineral spirits work to get that out? Quote
troopertom Posted August 12, 2015 Author Report Posted August 12, 2015 is it normal for the ears to be asymmetrical in their alignment on the helmet? please say yes. otherwise...I don't want to think about it. Quote
Chills[TK] Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 Did you use the paint on plasti dip or the spray? Please say paint on. Quote
Darth Havoc[TK] Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) Thet ears should be the same location on both sides. You will not, nor should you, have a perfect seal between the ears and the bucket. Here are my MTK bucket build pics for ref . Hope this helps Edited January 7, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photo updated gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
troopertom Posted August 13, 2015 Author Report Posted August 13, 2015 done messing with it. on to the paint. Quote
