Captain_Wordo[TK] Posted July 24, 2015 Author Report Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) Today only a little update on this build. Little secret tube I saw a screencap of ESB where little round thingies are between the barrel and the scope rail and now I try to imitate that. So I cutted 2 little pieces off and glue it on the underside of the rail where the screws are. It also hides the screws that are used to fix the scope on the rail. That tube is not in the kit. The barrel is ready for painting: Some parts painted More parts painted The bolt This is not the final result of the paint job, when all parts are assembled, the weathering of the blaster will be done. Be careful with your builds and stay tuned for updates Edited July 20, 2017 by Captain_Wordo 1 Quote

VulpX[TK] Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 What paint did you use? Matte black, satin black? Silver for the bolt? Looking really smooth! 1 Quote
Captain_Wordo[TK] Posted July 25, 2015 Author Report Posted July 25, 2015 Looking good. Can't wait for mine. Thank you very much! Yeah, this kit is really great. What paint did you use? Matte black, satin black? Silver for the bolt? Looking really smooth! I used for the parts that are seen in the pictures above satin black. And yes, for the bolt I used silver. I used spray paint. 1 Quote
Captain_Wordo[TK] Posted July 25, 2015 Author Report Posted July 25, 2015 (edited) Today only little progress on this build. As promised, I turned the sight block around, now it looks like this: These parts come together as the endcap: Finished endcap: Be careful with your builds and stay tuned for updates Edited July 20, 2017 by Captain_Wordo Quote
Captain_Wordo[TK] Posted July 26, 2015 Author Report Posted July 26, 2015 (edited) More progress on this build. The grip and the change lever: A little steel pin added to the scene: That pin is not part of the kit. I wanted to add something like an anchor to increase the connection between grip and change lever: Finished, of course I decided to set "s" for safe Now this screw finds it's place: Finished: Time to connect these two parts: Again a predrilled hole: The screw shows the right place to connect the front part of the folding stock with the barrel: The other part is glued: Finished: Inside the barrel: Another predrilled hole: The screw shows where to connect the magazin with the barrel: Finished: Inside the barrel: Time to connect these three parts: The inserted bolt: The scope is also added to the barrel: In the next days I have to buy the right wire and I have to find someone with a heat gun, so I can bring the t-tracks into the right shape Be careful with your builds and stay tuned for updates Edited July 24, 2017 by Captain_Wordo Quote

Dday[501st] Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 The scope is also added to the barrel: In the next days I have to buy the right wire and I have to find someone with a heat gun, so I can bring the t-tracks into the right shape Be careful with your builds and stay tuned for updates Markus, I would suggest that you shave the feet of the scope more. There is still the pour area on the bottom of the feet. When trimmed down right, the bottom of the fat end of the scope should almost touch the rail. Also, The M19 scope should be located much further back. A bad zoom on a screen cap: Shows the first thing I mentioned about the height of the scope, plus in the photo the scope looks to be more placed to the back vs the front. So just a little back from the middle... meaning I'd move your scope back about 2-3CM if you want to go through the trouble. It will look good without it, but definitely trim down the feet 1 Quote
Captain_Wordo[TK] Posted July 27, 2015 Author Report Posted July 27, 2015 Nice progress. You are moving fast!! Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk Thank you very much, Allan! I try to hold the finished blaster as soon as possible in my hands Markus, I would suggest that you shave the feet of the scope more. There is still the pour area on the bottom of the feet. I'll try to translate them into action. I don't want to go through the trouble, but of course I'll do inspite of that, cause I wanna build my blaster as good as possible 1 Quote
Captain_Wordo[TK] Posted July 27, 2015 Author Report Posted July 27, 2015 (edited) Some more progress on this build. The ring that holds the endcap: The installed endcap: Again predrilled holes, this time on the bottom side of the barrel: The installed grip: The installed trigger: The installed trigger guard: As you can see, I already removed the scope and scope rail, because to make some modifications on that. First I trim down the scope feet a bit and after that I move the scope a bit further back on the rail. That is next on my checklist Be careful with your builds and stay tuned for updates Edited July 24, 2017 by Captain_Wordo 1 Quote
Captain_Wordo[TK] Posted July 29, 2015 Author Report Posted July 29, 2015 (edited) Today the modification of the scope and the scope rail. First I used some metal putty to close the old holes. After drying I sand it: Painted and new holes drilled: The feet of the scope trimmed down and installed on the scope rail: Be carefeul with your builds and stay tuned for updates Edited July 25, 2017 by Captain_Wordo Quote

Captain_Wordo[TK] Posted July 30, 2015 Author Report Posted July 30, 2015 (edited) A bit progress on this build and some pictures of it today. This becomes part of my blaster... ...it's the spring And inserted into the barrel: Last view on the unweathered bolt: Last view on the unweathered other side of the blaster: First step of weathering the bolt: Some views on the weathered blaster: Here and there are some parts already rusty... 2nd step of weathering the bolt: Well, I hope you like what you see Hopefully I can get tomorrow my hands on a heat gun so that I can bring the t-tracks in shape, place them onto the barrel and weather them. Be careful with your builds and stay tuned for the next update Edited July 25, 2017 by Captain_Wordo 1 Quote
VulpX[TK] Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Wow, that weathering looks awesome! Hope I can achieve this level of detailed weathering on mine. BTW, I did my T-tracks this afternoon. I dipped the ends of the tracks in very hot water (just boiled) for 25 seconds. Then the bend very easily. No need for a heat gun 1 Quote

I wish had knew that before, cause this afternoon I did my t-tracks with the heat gun... now I know that I don't like heat guns and I don't like t-tracks Quote
Captain_Wordo[TK] Posted August 1, 2015 Author Report Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) Okay, this is the final update Yesterday I did the t-tracks and added them onto the barrel: Of course the t-tracks have to be weathered too: There are also rusty spots: The scope is also weathered now: So this is the final result of 12 days (always after family-time, work and so on) of blaster building: In this last picture is a little hint for whom this blaster is builded I hope you like what you see! Dday[501st] Posted August 2, 2015 Report Posted August 2, 2015 Markus, staying true to the prop, the tracks were plastic already so there should be no weathering. But in the universe, the tracks would likely be metal and the weathering looks good. I really like how you put the rusting on the areas where you overheated the tracks, the bubbling there really lends itself perfectly to a rusting spot. 1 Quote
Captain_Wordo[TK] Posted August 2, 2015 Author Report Posted August 2, 2015 Thank you very much, guys! Your positive feedback really mean a lot to me : And of course this blaster is from a galaxy far far away, I received it from the dark lord himself 1 Quote
