Today only a little update on this build.

Little secret tube ;)
e-11_mw_wip_080.jpg

I saw a screencap of ESB where little round thingies are between the barrel and the scope rail and now I try to imitate that. So I cutted 2 little pieces off and glue it on the underside of the rail where the screws are. It also hides the screws that are used to fix the scope on the rail. That tube is not in the kit.

The barrel is ready for painting:

Some parts painted
e-11_mw_wip_085.jpg

More parts painted
e-11_mw_wip_086.jpg

The bolt

This is not the final result of the paint job, when all parts are assembled, the weathering of the blaster will be done.

Be careful with your builds and stay tuned for updates :)

What paint did you use? Matte black, satin black? Silver for the bolt? Looking really smooth!

Looking good. Can't wait for mine.

Thank you very much! :) Yeah, this kit is really great.

I used for the parts that are seen in the pictures above satin black. And yes, for the bolt I used silver. I used spray paint.

Today only little progress on this build.

As promised, I turned the sight block around, now it looks like this:
e-11_mw_wip_089.jpg

These parts come together as the endcap:

Finished endcap:

More progress on this build.

The grip and the change lever:
e-11_mw_wip_092.jpg

A little steel pin added to the scene:
e-11_mw_wip_093.jpg

That pin is not part of the kit. I wanted to add something like an anchor to increase the connection between grip and change lever:
e-11_mw_wip_094.jpg

Finished, of course I decided to set "s" for safe ;)
e-11_mw_wip_095.jpg

Now this screw finds it's place:
e-11_mw_wip_096.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_097.jpg

Finished:
e-11_mw_wip_098.jpg

Time to connect these two parts:
e-11_mw_wip_099.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_100.jpg

Again a predrilled hole:
e-11_mw_wip_101.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_102.jpg

The screw shows the right place to connect the front part of the folding stock with the barrel:
e-11_mw_wip_103.jpg

The other part is glued:
e-11_mw_wip_104.jpg

Finished:

Inside the barrel:

Another predrilled hole:

The screw shows where to connect the magazin with the barrel:

Finished:

Inside the barrel:
e-11_mw_wip_111.jpg

Time to connect these three parts:
e-11_mw_wip_112.jpg

The inserted bolt:
e-11_mw_wip_113.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_114.jpg

The scope is also added to the barrel:
e-11_mw_wip_115.jpg

In the next days I have to buy the right wire and I have to find someone with a heat gun, so I can bring the t-tracks into the right shape ;)

Markus,

I would suggest that you shave the feet of the scope more. There is still the pour area on the bottom of the feet.

When trimmed down right, the bottom of the fat end of the scope should almost touch the rail.

Also, The M19 scope should be located much further back.

A bad zoom on a screen cap:

Capture_zpsvdopmdip.png

Shows the first thing I mentioned about the height of the scope, plus in the photo the scope looks to be more placed to the back vs the front. So just a little back from the middle... meaning I'd move your scope back about 2-3CM if you want to go through the trouble.

It will look good without it, but definitely trim down the feet :D

Nice progress. You are moving fast!!

Thank you very much, Allan! I try to hold the finished blaster as soon as possible in my hands ;)

Thank you very much for your advices, Derrek! I'll try to translate them into action. I don't want to go through the trouble, but of course I'll do inspite of that, cause I wanna build my blaster as good as possible ;)

Some more progress on this build.

The ring that holds the endcap:
e-11_mw_wip_117a.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_118.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_119.jpg

The installed endcap:

Again predrilled holes, this time on the bottom side of the barrel:
e-11_mw_wip_121.jpg

The installed grip:
e-11_mw_wip_122.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_123.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_124.jpg

The installed trigger:
e-11_mw_wip_125.jpg

The installed trigger guard:
e-11_mw_wip_126.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_127.jpg

As you can see, I already removed the scope and scope rail, because to make some modifications on that. First I trim down the scope feet a bit and after that I move the scope a bit further back on the rail. That is next on my checklist ;)

Be careful with your builds and stay tuned for updates :)

Today the modification of the scope and the scope rail.

First I used some metal putty to close the old holes.

After drying I sand it:

Painted and new holes drilled:

The feet of the scope trimmed down and installed on the scope rail:

A bit progress on this build and some pictures of it today.

This becomes part of my blaster...

...it's the spring :)

And inserted into the barrel:

e-11_mw_wip_161.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_162.jpg

Well, I hope you like what you see ;)

Hopefully I can get tomorrow my hands on a heat gun so that I can bring the t-tracks in shape, place them onto the barrel and weather them. :D

Be careful with your builds and stay tuned for the next update :)

Wow, that weathering looks awesome! Hope I can achieve this level of detailed weathering on mine.

BTW, I did my T-tracks this afternoon. I dipped the ends of the tracks in very hot water (just boiled) for 25 seconds. Then the bend very easily. No need for a heat gun :)

Thank you very much, Richard! :)

I wish had knew that before, cause this afternoon I did my t-tracks with the heat gun... now I know that I don't like heat guns and I don't like t-tracks ;)

Okay, this is the final update :)

Yesterday I did the t-tracks and added them onto the barrel:
e-11_mw_wip_163.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_164.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_165.jpg

Of course the t-tracks have to be weathered too:
e-11_mw_wip_166.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_167.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_168.jpg

There are also rusty spots:
e-11_mw_wip_169.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_170.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_171.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_172.jpg

The scope is also weathered now:
e-11_mw_wip_173.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_174.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_175.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_176.jpg

So this is the final result of 12 days (always after family-time, work and so on) of blaster building:
e-11_mw_wip_177.jpg

e-11_mw_wip_178.jpg

In this last picture is a little hint for whom this blaster is builded ;)
e-11_mw_wip_179.jpg

I hope you like what you see! :)

Markus, staying true to the prop, the tracks were plastic already so there should be no weathering. But in the universe, the tracks would likely be metal and the weathering looks good. I really like how you put the rusting on the areas where you overheated the tracks, the bubbling there really lends itself perfectly to a rusting spot.

Thank you very much, guys! Your positive feedback really mean a lot to me :

And of course this blaster is from a galaxy far far away, I received it from the dark lord himself ;)
