Most likely you will have to fill it in with bondo and make it look like an M38.

that's what most people do.

Vern! hoped you'd chime in on this. It's listed by a trusted vender as converted. Could I ask your opinion on whether he's filled it already? (He just hasn't responded yet) Can't find pics of an A2 without the band and it looks like there might be a stripe of fresh paint. I see that it's thinner than the 38 he's also selling but you're the expert. If not, how's the 38 look? I liked the A2's clean paint job but I was originally looking for a normal 38.

Here's the link:

Yes, that first link is a converted scope. But why don't you ask Felice? He's also a member here.

With two Kids I'm really busy:-))

Yes, converted means that i filled up the cap. It looked like an M38 just the number on the side is missing.

But this scope is sold:-( and my source is empty.

If you take a look into ebay you will find some scopes. But don't pay more than 100$ for an M38A2 and not more than 160-170$ to an M38. Over 200 is too expensive!

Cheers,

Felix

Is there any tut for converting an A2?

  1. Cover the gap in bondo.
  2. Sand until smooth.
  3. Compare with profiles of a M38.
  4. Rinse and repeat until satisfied.
  5. Paint it black again.
