K@nne[TK] Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) Paul what do you think about this picture? Inner over outer? ! I am confused Edited June 24, 2015 by K@nne Quote
troopermaster Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 What I see is the moulded in joining strip on the armour which is something the CFO lacks. You get the impression it's the inner part overlapping the outer but that is not the case. 1 Quote
Disco Posted June 24, 2015 Author Report Posted June 24, 2015 I see there's a strip on this picture on the legs - the CRL references overlap methods for EIB approval - looking at different pics and reference pics there seems to be a couple of variances. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
K@nne[TK] Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 Oh ok than I have to unglue my biceps Quote
Disco Posted June 24, 2015 Author Report Posted June 24, 2015 I just glued my biceps same as you K@nne - I'll check with my garrison re whether I need to change it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

We also have a ROTJ Centurion who glue the tights that way 😆 Edited June 24, 2015 by K@nne Quote
Disco Posted June 24, 2015 Author Report Posted June 24, 2015 Righto - who is that? do they have pics we can look at? I was looking at Rhapsodyred's centurion application - his are outer overlapping inner. The CRL is confusing - the reference pics in don't seem relevant at points. Quote

But as already mentioned CRL does not say which way you have to glue the parts together Edited June 24, 2015 by K@nne 1 Quote
Disco Posted June 24, 2015 Author Report Posted June 24, 2015 Yep I found that today - think I'll be following that - his arms are outside overlapping inner though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Disco Posted June 24, 2015 Author Report Posted June 24, 2015 I'm with you. We'll start a trend. If we don't get approved we'll start the 502nd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

sskunky Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 I still think anything goes. Paul shows a pic of one suit of armour and the pic I showed is of another and they are clearly assembled differently. I know that some arms were glued inner over outer but as Paul has shown there were also outer over inner. I have alwasy done outer over inner but as you can see that's not always the case. 1 Quote

I am with you in that case. Also put this question into the EIB section to be sure But I already glued the shins, and arms that way And for me it works much better especially for the tights I think with the inner overlapping the outer I will have much more room to wear them Edited June 24, 2015 by K@nne 1 Quote
K@nne[TK] Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 "Outer goes on Top of the inner" have a look into my thread in the EIB section Quote
Disco Posted June 24, 2015 Author Report Posted June 24, 2015 Can you send a link - having drama finding it. Quote

troopermaster Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 The majority of reference photos I have show the outer parts overlapping the inner parts but some show the opposite. I have never seen the legs assembled the opposite way but I have seen the arms done that way. Outer over inner looks better in my opinion. 1 Quote
sskunky Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 Oh, I agree with you on it looking better over inner. But just saying it's accurate either way by the looks of it. Quote
Disco Posted June 25, 2015 Author Report Posted June 25, 2015 Bugger. Well they're done now - I'll apply the normal approved method to the legs when I do them - thanks for the input guys, it's such a minefield when you're a newbie builder. Quote
sskunky Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 I've just assembled one with parts the wrong way. It's accurate as originals were like that so don't fret it's cool. 1 Quote
TK3645 Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 I have a load in order. Just waiting for them to come in. If you can wait you can get a set from me. Mark can I get a set of those bankers clasps when they come in Quote

JohnnyChaos Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 i've seen the legs (thighs at least) done both ways.. you get more material to play with gluing inner over outer on most parts to larger troopers need to glue them the other way.. 2 Quote
