KaitoTrooper[TK] Posted June 19, 2015 Report Posted June 19, 2015 I used patex plastic glue gel. I personally prefer the gel glues because they are more solid Sent from the shield generator on Endor 1 Quote

sskunky Posted June 21, 2015 Report Posted June 21, 2015 The trim really makes a difference to the feel of the armour. Looks like a fine job. Quote
Darth Havoc[TK] Posted June 21, 2015 Report Posted June 21, 2015 Build looks great. Just some advise, when fitting your armor, put your under suit on as it will change how the armor fits 1 Quote
Disco Posted June 22, 2015 Author Report Posted June 22, 2015 So the undersuit turned up today - confronting. Hello protein shakes and tinned tuna. They were out of stock of all black so sent me ones with some white stitching - I'll colour that out with black Nikko. Will be able to size my arms and legs now. Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Try a black fabric marker as it is more permanent than the humble Niko pen. Also, you will only need to colour the visible bits of white stitching really. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1 Quote
Disco Posted June 22, 2015 Author Report Posted June 22, 2015 I've realised I forgot to order the aluminium clips for the TD holder on the belt - I'll have a crack at making them - I now they're thinner than ANH etc - does anyone know the dimensions? Quote

Disco Posted June 23, 2015 Author Report Posted June 23, 2015 Gray help thanks mate - I picked up some strips today from the hardware - they had 3mm or 1.6mm thickness - looking at yours I think I'll use the 1.6mm - I've got the other just in case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

sskunky Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) If you can find 3 1/4" bankers clasps use them. That's what they used on the originals secured with one rivet on each clasp. Edited June 23, 2015 by sskunky Quote

sskunky Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 I have a load in order. Just waiting for them to come in. If you can wait you can get a set from me. 2 Quote

Darth Havoc[TK] Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Your CRL has the clips between 1/2 and 3/4 in width. I used bankers clasps off the internet and cut them. I believe evil boy here on the FISD sells them as well. Quote
Disco Posted June 23, 2015 Author Report Posted June 23, 2015 I'm glueing the biceps today - I glued the forearms with the inside overlapping the outer piece due to recent discoveries, so I am wondering if I should do the same with the bicep to keep symmetry - it is hard to see in the reference photo from Sskunky if the biceps are treated the same or not - any thoughts? 1 Quote

Disco Posted June 24, 2015 Author Report Posted June 24, 2015 the back of the drop boxes is a little gnarly. I'll tidy them up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

troopermaster Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 The rivet holds the strap for the drop box and is fixed directly to the abdomen plate. The rivet goes straight through the plastic ammo section, elastic, webbing and then the abdomen in that order. Make sure you use a washer inside the abdomen plate to keep it secure. Drop box elastic should be glued to the outside of the inner box. You can do it any way you want but that is how the original ROTJ armour was 2 Quote
