K@nne[TK] Posted May 21, 2015 Author Report Posted May 21, 2015 Have you glued your two helmet pieces or does it sit like that?I clued them together usinf E6000 some magnets and clambs 1 Quote
K@nne[TK] Posted May 21, 2015 Author Report Posted May 21, 2015 To the guys who already built the helmet. Which colours Did you use? Quote
Disco Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 How did you go with the front gluing- when I clamp the front the sides are separating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
K@nne[TK] Posted May 21, 2015 Author Report Posted May 21, 2015 Good question I clambed the sides first than I put the front together with the magnets, but I did nod use many glue on the front directly (only on the upper part of the front because of the gap which result from the thickness of the brow) If everything fit together I add some glue on the edges on the inside of the helmet. I took a picture of Mark (hope that is ok for you) to show you where I put the glue on (red line) Sry for my english, german would be much easier to explain it Is it clear to you? Quote
Disco Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Clear as mud! All good mate - so do you still have a gap at the front under the brow? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
K@nne[TK] Posted May 21, 2015 Author Report Posted May 21, 2015 Clear as mud! All good mate - so do you still have a gap at the front under the brow? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes I have a gap. It was impossible to glue the parts together without a small gap between. Quote
K@nne[TK] Posted May 21, 2015 Author Report Posted May 21, 2015 Preparing the teeth for the paint job. Can you please have a look on the area if this will be ok for painting? What color did you use, it is a matt black or a semi gloss black? I have both Humbrol colours available. thx guys Quote
K@nne[TK] Posted May 21, 2015 Author Report Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) ......in the meantime I tried to trimm the first piece. I am not sure but I think i choose the hardest peace, the chest plate. I am a bit uncertain about the trimming. I compared it with Mark´s trimming guide and some reference pictures, but I am still not sure how to trimm. Can you check if I am on the wrong way. KaitoTrooper[TK] Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 I'd suggest to leave some more room on the left side. Draw your line a bit more upwards. Quote
K@nne[TK] Posted May 22, 2015 Author Report Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) Ok thx. Any more suggestions also for the painting I asked on the page before ? Edited May 22, 2015 by K@nne Quote
Disco Posted May 23, 2015 Report Posted May 23, 2015 HI mate - In the CRL for ROTJ it mentions the frown is painted black. I've also attached a link to a forum that shows colours for the rest of the build - http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/8117-helmet-ab-paint-detail-reference-guide/ It may be for a different model but may help. 1 Quote
K@nne[TK] Posted May 23, 2015 Author Report Posted May 23, 2015 Thx mate. CRL says frown and Vocoder painted black, so they do not take care if it is painted glossy, matt oder semi gloss black? Compared to Marks suit one starwarshelmet.com it looks like that he used a semi gloss black for Vocoder and frown . What do you think? Quote
