Rubies E-11 convertion!

I know, I know.....Rubies it the devil!

 

So please don't tell vader or the emporer (because I don't want to get choked! LOL)

 

But i found this blaster at Target for 12 bucks...(i know i'm cheap)

 

The reason I went w/ this blaster is because to me it was the most accurate looking one....I know....Rubies accurate?

 

It has the counter, the magazine and the scope doesn't look to bad...it even has the correct amount of T-tracks....

 

so before you crusify me....take a look at the build and then make your own opinion...

 

(THIS IS FOR BASIC APPROVAL ONLY!!!!!)

 

Ok...here we go..

 

 

 

so first i cut out the vents...

 

 

Then i drilled some holes for the wires coming from the counter..

 

 

Then I wrapped some regular black wire around the screw driver....

 

 

Then I painted it all satin black...

 

 

and put it back together!

 

 

And there you go!

 

agian this is only good enough for basic approval. It's a little on the small side, but it works for me because i'm a too small for a stormtrooper anyways!

No stock catch box thingy under the butt! Nor power cylinders. I think what Rubies did was acquire the SW Rebels show's 3d model and just printed it.

Not bad for just painting and drilling. With a little tlc you could make it look even closer (like shave down the tracks a bit and open the scope rail etc.)

I know it's not perfect, but for the price i couldn't help it.

 

I do plan on making some more mods to it, I will be weathering it w/ some silver drybrushing and eventually add some custom power cylinders.

 

For basic approval....this works for me.

It looks really great for what it is...well done!!.... It's 10 x better than the dreadful hasbro  I would sand the T-tracks down from their high arch, that really looks silly....good job though.....maybe a bit of weathering

I would sand down the t-tracks too. Then it would be good for more then a swift view!

The power cylinders were based of wolfs cub, I brought his budget resin ones to use as a reference (my first attempt that I made were too big) I ended up breaking my wolf Cubs ones as I dropped them on concrete and they shattered into a million pieces ...

As for the wire, I assume it's just some kind of electrical wire or something you can get at a hardware store? 

 

What kind of black spray did you use? Do people use anything in particular? Did you use a primer beforehand?

Hey Drew!

 

Sorry for the delayed response...darn vacations! lol

 

I use some regular black copper wire you can find at almost any electrical store or off of an old apliance that you don't need or is broken.

 

I used the satin black paint, i didn't want gloss or flat, so this is a good inbetween.

 

I did not prime it before hand but it wouldn't hurt, also make sure to sand down the t track before painting (because now i have to repaint mine)
