charlesnarles Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) Excuse me if this isn't the right place to ask; The new Disney (gonna call them "ND") electronic toy blasters have a much smaller diameter than the Hasbro version (haven't seen any branding but Disney's, so it's no longer by/through Hasbro). The ND is about 1.5" diameter, so the doopydoo's nose piece is wider than the pipe. Looks like 1" diameter for the nose piece would be perfect: So! Without excluding Doopydoo and the other resin guys, who wants to help make the first ND custom piece? I'm a layman in terms of 3D printing and mold-shrinking, the two easiest ways I can see getting it done other than whittling the DD piece, so I'd be willing to pay for the expertise as well as the part itself (not up the wazoo tho; the point is for this to be easy, after all). How hard (expensive) would this be? Thanks Edited February 22, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photos updated gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
usaeatt2 Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) How about this one for $8.00? 1.25" diameter X 0.41" wide. https://www.shapeways.com/product/ZDLH6UCKG/e11-nozzle?li=search-results-1&optionId=24523862 Edited February 22, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photos updated gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
charlesnarles Posted April 16, 2015 Author Report Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) Looks like the doopydoo is 1.5" so 1.25" might be better, but it looks like 1.0" would be the correct scale for that particular model Edited April 16, 2015 by charlesnarles Quote
usaeatt2 Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 The artist offers other SW related items...in fact, he scaled Hovi Mic tips down to 80% size for Walt's kid armor. I'm sure he could QUICKLY scale the E-11 nozzle to the ND blaster... I just brought it up because it saves a lot of design effort. BTW, if you scroll to the bottom, you can download the STL file and make your own modifications! Quote
charlesnarles Posted April 16, 2015 Author Report Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) Oooh that's the savvy I'm after! I really appreciate the tip, I'm sure others will too. I'll try to find real sterling specs and get exactly what % smaller the pipe is. Thanks again, it's *exactly* what I was looking for Edited April 16, 2015 by charlesnarles Quote
usaeatt2 Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 Muzzle diameters measured from a real Sterling using Starrett calipers: Large: 1.238" Small: 0.990" Quote
charlesnarles Posted April 21, 2015 Author Report Posted April 21, 2015 O rly? Looks like the Disney version really is close to 1:1 all over. Cool Quote
Kath[501st] Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Nice. I was just thinking about replacing mine. Can 3d print then maybe mold and resen cast or something! Quote
charlesnarles Posted April 29, 2015 Author Report Posted April 29, 2015 Muzzle diameters measured from a real Sterling using Starrett calipers: Large: 1.238" Small: 0.990" Now is that the nozzle piece or the pipe diameter? Quote
usaeatt2 Posted April 29, 2015 Report Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) Pipe diameter is 1.5". The measurements above are for the muzzle (nozzle). Edited April 29, 2015 by usaeatt2 Quote
charlesnarles Posted April 30, 2015 Author Report Posted April 30, 2015 Okay, then the Disney is indeed scaled down in a lot of areas, but the scope and other parts seem close to original. I do need an 80% scale nozzle! Quote
Vaj Posted April 30, 2015 Report Posted April 30, 2015 If you need help with scaling an stl file or need a print of it let me know guys! Quote
