Khazid[TK]
Most foams are going to have a lot of open cells which will hurt the final look. You could go with L200 foam, it has smaller cell patterns (rigidity), but is tough to source and pricey. I think this is why leather or the secondary market here or on the MIPD site is he way most go for their TD's and HWT's.
gazmosis[501st]
Foam is not an accepted option for approval. I'd hate to see you do all this work and not be able to be approved.
TK-Sonic[TK]
Like to share this Shoulder ammo pouch. Made by hand for under $5. Found a basic layout pattern of this pouch & used some cut pieces of Styrofoam board for filler and basic look alike leather material. Lots of glue and a clip strap to secure it. For $5 thats amazing. I am looking at MP40 replica pouches on ebay. debating whether I should or not. Im not even making a sandtrooper. I was just think the black Pauldron would look cool on its own with the armour like the Storms in Star Wars Rebels. Already bought a black pauldron but damn it seems too small and I thought an ammo pouch might work to cover up the left shoulder a bit. I might go for your method. But maybe I should wait til I actually get my pre-orderd armour.
