bearings[TK] Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 I picked up a Hyperfirm E-11 so I can apply for EIB and Centurion and start trooping much sooner than my PP E-11 kit will be finished (I want to take my time and add electronics to that one). This thing is really light weight and seems very durable: I want to tone down the brass color of the scope, what kind of paint should I use for that? Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 I used flat black Krylon spray paint to tone down my Hyperfirm DLT-19, and it worked great. Might want to rough it a bit with some 200+ grit sandpaper first. As far as durability, I think I could drop this thing off of a cell tower and it would just bounce and still look good! Probably not recommended, though. 1 Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 Acrylic paints are also good. The gold on the scope is always a bit enthusiastic. Knock that down a bit and you are.......golden! 1 Quote
bearings[TK] Posted March 18, 2015 Author Report Posted March 18, 2015 Haha, I see what you did there. Awesome, thanks for the info guys! I'll post again once I do some painting and attach the D-ring. Quote
Snaps[TK] Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 Looking forward to seeing the updated version Quote
mablax12 Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 Find out where you can get Montana Gold spray paints! They are special low-pressure cans that give incredible control. Will never use Krylon or Rustoleum again, though they are cheaper than the Montana. Quote
bearings[TK] Posted April 4, 2015 Author Report Posted April 4, 2015 I drilled a small hole through the d-ring mount spot first. Then, I bent the ring so it would be open on one side. Next I carefully slipped the open side through the drilled hole... this is tricky because the hyperfirm can tear. Finally, I bent the ring back closed and then painted the ring black. 1 Quote
Tr00per Posted April 5, 2015 Report Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) Looking great But i'm not sure why people would paint the grip, as it's not metal. Edited April 5, 2015 by Tr00per Quote
