gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted March 16, 2015 Report Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) With all the drama happening on the main boards at the moment I take comfort in knowing there are still those who selflessly think of others, Cameron from the Redback Garrison has started an interest thread for any member who would like to help replace some armor for Scott Loxley as his is only just hanging in there and it is doubtful there will be much left by the end of his epic journey. For those not following Scott's epic journey he is walking around Australia collection on behalf of Monash Children's Hospital. Cameron wrote: "It has been pointed out that one of our bretheren who is currently walking his way round Australia to raise money for a childrens hospital has a need himself. His armour has suffered so much that by the time he gets home it will be more tape than armour. Considering what he is doing and the sacrifice he and his family have made for this cause, I and others feel we as a legion should make an effort to replace his kit." If you would like to help give back to the man who has given so much and like to get involved head to http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=131&t=85399]http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=131&t=85399]http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=131&t=85399and indicate your interest. Dark PWF[Staff] Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 Already signed on. It would be a total disgrace and a failure in my eyes if this doesn't happen. Glen, do we know what type of kit Scott currently troops with? Or, more accurately perhaps, what type of kit is currently falling off of him as he troops around the continent? Quote

justjoseph63[Staff] Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 I read about this trooper's incredible journey, (15,000 KM, WOW), and would like to help out. I can't sign up for the main boards yet, (awaiting my Legion number), but is there a "Go Fund Me" or Paypal account I could contribute to? Thanks... Quote
Dark PWF[Staff] Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 Not just yet, Joseph. I'm sure you'll be good to go before this wraps up. Just follow this post in the meantime for updates. 1 Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) Thanks, Tim, will do! Edited March 17, 2015 by justjoseph63 Quote
Dark PWF[Staff] Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 For the record, Scott expects to be completing his "Troop" no earlier than some time in June, so there is some reaction time to be had here. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted March 17, 2015 Author Report Posted March 17, 2015 Still in the early stages, the thread has only been going for a couple of days. Scott had to toke a couple of weeks off for family reasons so his finish date may have been put back. As Tim mentioned he was hoping to finish mid June but we will see what happens. I will post more information when it is available. Thanks guys Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted March 18, 2015 Author Report Posted March 18, 2015 Donation link now added: http://www.gofundme.com/owotfg From Scott: "Well I was looking at putting an RS TK together but a bit down the track. Any armour would be great, as you know there's a lot out there. ATA, TM, AP, NE2 etc" "If this was going to go ahead I would be grateful for any armour that would keep me in the 501st" Just have to keep in mind he is about 6 foot 2 or 3. Quote
Dark PWF[Staff] Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 RT, but that would require a specially worked deal as Robs list is full for the year. AM, TM, MTK? Shared with my Garrison, by the way. Quote

Shared with my Garrison, by the way. RS says there should be no issue with my height and I'm 6'4". They just wont do any assembly for someone that tall. 1 Quote

FNGmacaroni[501st] Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 And to add to my last post; I was going through the Centurion threads looking at other peoples RS armor that has been approved when I came across this one. 6'3" and 230 lbs in RS. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/21415-tk-8646-requesting-anh-stunt-centurion-status-rs58/ Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted March 18, 2015 Author Report Posted March 18, 2015 Ok I must have shrunk Scott said he's 6 foot tall 1 Quote
Dday[501st] Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 If he has the right wast line, TM would be a great set with their XL length shins. Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 G'day all I thought , just for a bit of fun, I would put into perspective, the magnitude of Scot's journey around Australia. North America and Australia share a similar overall land mass, so ever considering walking around the USA. You can imagine how tired Scott must be from all that walking and how sore his feet must get. Image courtesy of Australian government Geo-science website. 2 Quote
Dday[501st] Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 America and Australia got together and had a baby... and they named it Alaska 2 Quote
Dark PWF[Staff] Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 Ok I must have shrunk Scott said he's 6 foot tall In your defense, he's probably about 6'2"-6'3" in his armor. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted March 19, 2015 Author Report Posted March 19, 2015 Nudging $1500 with just only 30 donators, well done troops 3 Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 Wow, less than $300. left to go!!!!!!! It would be great if he had a certain Big Brown Box waiting for him on his return! 3 Quote

justjoseph63[Staff] Posted March 20, 2015 Report Posted March 20, 2015 If I may make a small suggestion, is it possible to "re-post" this topic? I am sure there are many others who would like to contribute, but perhaps they only have time to look at Recent Topics, and it gets lost in the shuffle. This guy (Scott) has eaten road-kill, been attacked by a deadly Brown snake, (his armor actually saved him), and slept onthe side of the road, all to help kids in need. I think he deserves this.
