ChicagoMP Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Greetings all! It's been over a year since I received my NE armor kit from Troopergear, and today I finally started work. I am immediately encountering issues, and I was hoping someone out there could help me out. I've cut the running edge and some cover strips but as I go to assemble the forearms they don't seem to line up on both ends (see pictures). Did I approach the trimming the right way, or did I totally f' this up already? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers! Quote
Coastertk Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Since the bottom (wrist) has absolutely no return edge I would align the top, tape your two halves together and follow the line of the shorter piece. Quote
Mutter Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Line up the pieces near the elbow. Trim the excess at the wrists. Do NOT cut the excess off at the elbows. This is a common uncertainty when building for the first time. I'd also recommend creating a build thread to post your progress. Just my 2 cents Quote
The5thHorseman[501st] Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Don't worry you haven't f* up anything, NE forearms have excess on them. As Jay is saying, align the top and adjust the length at the wrist end. Quote
ChicagoMP Posted February 27, 2015 Author Report Posted February 27, 2015 Thanks guys. I'll be starting a build thread as you suggested. Something tells me I'll be returning for advice often! Cheers! Quote
Rigel[TK] Posted March 6, 2015 Report Posted March 6, 2015 You'll love your NE kit when it's complete (that's what I have). The forearms are a pain but nothing insurmountable. Now the NE bucket, that's another story. Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted March 6, 2015 Report Posted March 6, 2015 By the looks of that first picture, I'm not so sure you have the correct top half matched with the matching bottom. So you might want to play around with swapping them out too. Quote
