Raintrooper Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 Wow! Excellent build! Should be an easy pass. Quote
I'm Batman[501st] Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 Should be a shoe in. Good luck! Only things I would comment on would be with your helmet - painting seems a bit thick in parts especially the rank bars on the ears, and you could take it that one extra step and get a longer brow trim to meet up with the ends of your traps. Well done! Quote
The5thHorseman[501st] Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 Freaking perfection here!!! Can't believe these are "Newey" snaps. So sweet ! Did you score those yourself or are they from TM? ..., and you could take it that one extra step and get a longer brow trim to meet up with the ends of your traps. Quote
I'm Batman[501st] Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 ??? Is that agreeing with me or disagreeing? Can't tell by that picture. Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 Looks very nice, should be an easy pass. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote

gazmosis[501st] Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 The brow trim meeting at the end of the trap is a luxury not a requirement. As long as it is close and doesn't fall too short, it's fine......as the multiple screen shots show. Quote
Bone[501st] Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) Yeeehaa! Finally another TM! Where are all those TM armors? This looks so sweet and friggin' perfect, I am nearly drooling ... Should be an easy pass! Well done! (And I learned something new!) BTW, did you use Pauls strapping kit? Edited February 24, 2015 by Bone Quote
StarWarsTom[TK] Posted February 24, 2015 Author Report Posted February 24, 2015 BTW, did you use Pauls strapping kit? the strapping have been done by the master himself - Paul. As I opened the package I know - it was worth every month waiting time. Reading the FISD topics as well as the very friendly members of the Austrian Garrison helped me a lot to arrange the armour. As long as it is close and doesn't fall too short, it's fine......as the multiple screen shots show. Exactly! A luxury, which is why I mentioned taking the "extra" step. Odd, Germain, that you would feel the need to comment on that, when you're own helmet goes way past. Anyway.... Quote
troopermaster Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Don't touch the brow. You don't understand how the helmets are assembled, Ian. Quote
troopermaster Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Obviously you don't if you keep insisting the brow trims should be longer. Quote
I'm Batman[501st] Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) Is that the same way you talk to Steve? And sorry, but when did I insist on anything? I made a suggestion. Germain disagreed, Steve agreed, you disagreed.... So? Edited February 25, 2015 by Sith Lord 1 Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 WOW! perfection Thomas. Quote
troopermaster Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Okay. Why would you want to have a longer brow, especially when all the real helmets shown by Germain are like the one I built for Tom? Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 This is the reason why some prefer the longer trim. I personally like the look of the longer trim because it just looks cleaner. But again, that's just me. It doesn't mean it is law or something required. It will never be a requirement. The pushing back and forth about something this stupid is over. Done. This post has been hijacked enough. This post is about Thomas's awesome TM armor. If you want to continue this debate,(which is a fair one) re-open it in the armor discussion thread. 1 Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Alright Thomas! Thank you so much for your application for Expert Infantry and for sharing this incredible armor with us! Let's take a look!!! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos and more are present. I am pleased to say that your armor represents all necessary requirements for EIB. I am happy to congratulate and welcome you to Expert Infantry!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: This section is used to summarize comments from your fellow troopers as well as my observations that go toward improving the overall look of your armor. These are suggestions and unless specifically stated, will not affect any application. I know you mentioned that Paul did the strapping. I don;t know if he JUST did the strapping or built the whole suit, but either way it is a work of art that anyone would drool over. You just never get tired of looking at a well built set of TM armor and your is no exception. The two things I want to bring up actually have nothing to do with the armor itself. First is your holster. It sticks out because of the straps that go to your belt. I have it on good authority that the original ANH holster straps were originally intended to be loops like ESB. A change was made to attach them rather than loop them so instead of installing all new straps, they were just cut in front at the top leaving a small chunk riveted to the front but the main attachment of the strap was to the rear. Again, I am not asking a repair be made here, nor is it a requirement but it's something seldom seen so it's worth bringing up. Although this is THE strangest holster seen in the film, you can see the chunks on the front while the straps come from the back. Although your blaster is built well, a little weathering can really make it pop. IF not, you can boost the realism of it by painting in the silver parts around the trigger group. Centurion Suggestions: I am sure that a Centurion application is in your future. Just make sure to follow the photo checklist for the application. Congratulations again!!! Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Congrats Thomas See you at Centurion Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Thanks for the good holster info Steve. Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 I actually need to credit Paul (Troopermaster) for that holster info. 1 Quote

troopermaster Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 I actually need to credit Paul (Troopermaster) for that holster info. You're welcome And just to clarify, I did build the whole suit but Tom put his own hand plates and holster on the suit. 1 Quote
