DarSec[TK] Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 It's been a while since I picked up my armor to work on it. My wife passed several weeks ago and I am slowly getting back to finding ways to get things back to normal. This was as rewarding for her as it was for me, and she was excited watching me build. I am close to the point of strapping and snapping my ATA TK Hero set up. I have seen many links to the post about the Newey sizes, but they are no longer available. Can anyone give me a no-nonsense, millimeter by millimeter (inch by inch) measurement description of EVERY rivet, snap bracket and hook from head to toe for a Centurion level, screen accurate suit? I am considering getting the RS accurate strapping kit and just being done with it, but I think I can save a little money buying stuff on my own. Also, is it considered screen-accurate at a Centurion level to put in metal eyelets in the calf side that is receiving the hooks? I've seen it done and I think it'll make the holes less likely to split but I don't want to mess it up. thanks in advance. Quote
Tolo[TK] Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 My condolences for the passing of your wife. If you look in the picture reference library on the main page, you will see the RS suit. In there you will find your measurements. For the strapping system, you can get it in the ongoing sale thread. As for the "bra hook", it is movir accurate and not needed for centurion. I'm Batman[501st] Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 Tandy Line 24 Snaps http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com.au/en-aud/search/searchresults/1263-15.aspx Rivets, etc http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23970-fs-centurion-level-rivet-sets/ Strapping, etc http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26477-what-we-know-about-strapping-snaps-rivets-etc/ That, together with looking at EIB and Centurion applications should get you out of trouble. I've never seen the eyelets, but as long as they're not visible, it probably doesn't matter. I would say the ABS will hold up pretty good without them. Quote

Remember, nothing on the inside is mandatory for Centurion. Only the visible crotch snaps, side rivets, etc. Whether you use the wire loops and elastic or snaps and elastic/webbing, it's entirely up to you. Quote
