Hey all.

I'm hoping for some input on the relative fits of a couple types of armor.  I'm female, and I want to do a "male" ANH stunt trooper.  I've narrowed down my choice to either AP (Canada) or RS Prop (UK).

I know AP is ANH derived, and supposedly is geared for a 5'10" 165 lb actor.  I'm 5'9" and 154 lbs.  However being female, I can only assume that I'm carrying my weight in different places than a British guy in the 1970s.  My shape is fairly hourglass, and while I am by no means over weight, I have hips.  And a butt.

RS Prop is supposedly a bit more generously sized than AP, although I've heard the difference is fairly minimal.

I'm hoping people here can help me make a decision.  I know that a lot comes down to the sizing and assembly so the ultimate fit will be in my hands; I just figured I'd see if anyone here had any advice before I made the final decision.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome aboard!

We have a lot (but not enough ) female trooper here. So I think it's possible for you to be able to fit in any type of amor. With my experience of seeing some AP kits, you can fit in them. But, I will let a lady chime more on it.

Varius armors lean to diffrent body builds but over all its all in the trimming. Go ahead and take a look at the getting started section if you have not already done so and look around. some were in the top few is one on what armors there are and were to find them.

Good luck in your research!  :salute:   The research portion of building armor just gets more and more involved and detailed (at least for me it does)

Actually RS props is sized to the original actors, being thta its casted from original armor. AP is still slightly smaller just smaller than the RS.

Sound like the perfect woman to me, hour glass figure, wants to build a Stormy, fantastic.

I have an AP, love it.

If you have a 32" waist or smaller, you can build it with out need for shimming ( adding extra strips) for it to fit around your middle.

Butt plate should be fine, and there is certainly enough material on the thigh parts to facilitate a wide array of sizes.

Your height is also good for the AP kit and if anything, you may need to shorten the shins a fraction.

Good luck with your search and be sure to check out some build threads.

We have a lady trooper in our garrison who has an AP, she is only 5'6" and it looks good on her.

I ended up choosing AM because of my hip/thigh size.

I believe the size difference between AP and RS is next to negligible.

Not so subtle pick up line there, Andrew  ;) . Distance could be a problem for you...

And I just read the origin of your user name. Andrew, Andrew, Andrew.....

Like was previously mentioned, AP will fit someone up to 34 inches around the belly button. RS if the extra material it is shipped with is left on, will fit a person with a 36 or 37 inch waist

Thanks for all the feedback guys!  Sounds like I'm going to lean towards the AP.  I know anything can be trimmed to fit, but I don't want to put any more speed bumps in my path than I must, since this is my first build.  Also, a lot of the local guys here in Michigan have APs so I'll be able to get help when I need it.

Thanks again for all the input!
