MinionTK[TK] Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 I am trying to finish up some trimming but I cannot seem to find what the width of the plastic shoulder straps are. If anyone knows where I could find this information can you please share thanks! Quote
The5thHorseman[501st] Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) There's no particular width to follow, just have a look at originals and try to match them . ------------ ---------- You can click the pictures to access high-res versions of them . gazmosis[501st] Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 There is no actual measurement as to how wide they should be. You just don't want too much flat plastic outside of the raised ribs. A mm or two at most Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 I trimmed mine to about 1/8" outside the rib. Quote
MinionTK[TK] Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 That's great, thanks for the help. I started to think these had to be a certain measurement but that's a relief. Back to sanding I go Oh one more. What's best way to bend them? Heat gun? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Dip one in for about 5 seconds, pull it out and check the elasticity. You'll know when it's ready, it will be soft enough to bend. Quote
MinionTK[TK] Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 And just use your hands to get it where you want it? I've seen so many different bends on the shoulder straps so I guess it's not a precise thing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

ukswrath[Staff] Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) A medium to large sized pot should be fine. The bend is mainly in the middle, the connecting edges 2" will be mostly flat (minor contour). Edited February 16, 2015 by ukswrath Quote
