lee utdk[TK] Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 Hi there. Please could you review my application for ANH Stunt EIB. I've been trooping this armour for a year now and really need to get this process in motion and hopefully get the EIB status. lee utdk[TK] Posted February 14, 2015 Author Report Posted February 14, 2015 Thank you guys, much appreciated 😊 Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 This not your official review but what I would like to see is that left side gap closed a bit more. What is the possibility of suiting up, breathing out, and having a helper tighten that belt. It is just too close to the 13 mm limit for side gaps. Quote
Haribon72[TK] Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 I like the action shot with the bonfire in the background! 1 Quote
lee utdk[TK] Posted February 14, 2015 Author Report Posted February 14, 2015 No probs Gaz, the ab and kidney plates do butt up without having to suck it in. I kitted up myself for these photos. Will kit up again and tighten the belt. I usually have an inch 'flap' to the side of the TD so will make its there which will mean the armour plates button up. Thanks for the feedback 😊 Quote
lee utdk[TK] Posted February 14, 2015 Author Report Posted February 14, 2015 Thanks Major, the bonfire photo is a favourite 😉 Quote
I'm Batman[501st] Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Love the fire shot! Good call Gaz! Could you also secure your drop boxes a bit better? Some shots show them outside the edge of the belt, some show them inside... Quote
Darth Aloha[Admin] Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 I have nothing to say here. Another fine UKG build. Also... this is pure evil: -Eric Quote
The5thHorseman[501st] Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 What happened to the back of his thighs while the bonfire picture was taken And congratulations Lee, that is one superb looking armor you have here. Beautiful helmet handpainting by the way. Quote
lee utdk[TK] Posted February 14, 2015 Author Report Posted February 14, 2015 Thank you Darth and Horseman, very kind words. The photo is awesome, taken during our Nov 5th Bonfire Night troop. Will look at fixing the drop boxes, best option probably tack them with a bit of stitching to stop them sliding along. Cheers for the feedback guys, Lee Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Lee! I want to get to your review!!! Cinch up that side gap!! Quote
lee utdk[TK] Posted February 14, 2015 Author Report Posted February 14, 2015 Gaz, Sorry for the the delay mate. I've got the kids staying with me this weekend so manic!! Anyways, got them off to bed and commenced the requested changes (must add, my girlfriend has been great helping, especially considering it is Valentines Day and all that!!!). Anyway, reference the drop boxes, I have just tacked the bottom edged of the elastics to the canvas belt with some stitching which stops the boxes drifting out but doesn't stop them 'floating'. Reference the gap on the right side, I have made a new elastic strap which pulls it together as I didn't want the belt to pull in tighter at the bottom and still have a gap at the top. I'm certainly not a big guy and I literately think that a year of trooping this armour and some of the elastic has perhaps given a little so I intend to review them all and sort as necessary. Anyway, I think the issue is now resolved and I can assure, by no means am I sucking it in, this is a comfortable fit I hope this is ok for you and look forward to your comments. Many thanks Gaz. Best regards, Lee Right side And the left side Belt tack/stitching (same both ends) Belt Quote
troopermaster Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Great job, Lee! You look awesome Quote
The5thHorseman[501st] Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Looks perfect! And nice stiching. You could also have glued them to the canvas belt, that's what they did on the film to keep them in place Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Nice build you have there Lee Good luck with your submission, i think everyone has covered the points you needed to fix. Quote
lee utdk[TK] Posted February 15, 2015 Author Report Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) Thank you Paul, that means a lot. I just put the suit together mate, you put all the hard work in making great armour so it's great to do it justice and get it EIB approved (even if over a year later!!)
