justjoseph63[Staff] Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 Hi! Well, it looks as if ukswrath has convinced me to do a HWT build, (to use at least part time). As soon as my armor is finished, I will start on the backpack, and get the ammo packs ordered. My problem is that all I have is an E-11, and I think that would look, well, strange. On the CRL, it says it IS an "accessory" option, but since I cannot seem to find a source for a resin DLT 11 kit without re-mortgaging my house, I am kind of stuck. If it IS acceptable, do I keep the holster on the belt alongside the ammo packs?? (I have a spare ABS belt with no drop boxes I was going to use especially for HWT). I appreciate any and all input! gazmosis[501st] Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 It is absolutely fine. It just needs to contain all ANH details Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted February 13, 2015 Author Report Posted February 13, 2015 SWEET! After re-reading the HWT CRLs, I noticed that the ammo pack is worn on the right side. Now I am thinking I could install removable drop boxes, and use my TK belt, since the holster is on the left side. I think I pretty much have my E-11mod nailed, after following Dark CMF's build, and adding an all new power cylinder area. Thanks for the info., Steve! Quote
aliens8us Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 I'm going to start my conversion to HWT from my TK soon. But I'm a little confused with the whole 'continuity' issue. Now tat Disney has taken over, all books and games are no longer 'canon' unless stated. So technically HWT are no longer canon because of the Battlefront game. Or is it? Now I've been watching Star Wars Rebels and have seen Stormtroopers with pauldrons with no combat pack. Moff Tarkin has a personal escort with Black pauldrons and E-11 Blasters. The Stormtroopers with the orange pauldrons seem to be unit leaders. No combat packs. But all Stormtroopers are wearing grenade canisters. I'm not a fan of the backpack or weathering like the TD. But I like the idea of getting the ammo pouches and pauldron (black). Can I do this? Eventually I'll get the other weapons and backpack if I need to. Any advice is most welcome! Quote

Hey Jonathan, sorry for catching this late. Just follow the HWT CRL and you'll be fine. As for the continuity issue, I believe there's a new Battlefront game in the works, as long as it's Disney made (which it is) and as long as we (the 501st) reflect and represent all that is Disney, then I think we're ok. JEDISTAR[TK] Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 Hey guys! I still love wearing my HWT...I have all 3 pauldrons for choices, MP40 pouches on both sides of the belt, removable drop boxes, a Captains TD pack, and a T-21 along with my E-11. I usually start with the T-21 at a troop then switch to the E-11...if you look at the screen shots they actually wear ESB handguards which I wear with mine and really like! I have even had people catch that Even if you dont have a pack, just keep the holster on, slap on your thermal det, grab a BFG and presto! Your " Heavy" lol Lots of possibilities! Troop on brothers! ukswrath[Staff] Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 Hey Charlie. Good to hear another HWT success story. Got to love the versatility of the HWT right? HWT like TD are a very rare breed. Beside the typical armor a TK wears we also lug around back packs, big guns and pride knowing we are in a elite group. Love it! Curious, how can you tell from the screen shots they're wearing ESB hand guards, we're still narrowing down how the space pack looks? Oh and BTW, not to be a Debbie downer but... um ... the TD packs are no longer CRL for the HWT. You would be grand fathered in of course but there's a new back pack in town and all the new and up and coming HWTs will be wearing them. I encourage you to join us. We really need to form a HWT group. Maybe someone can design some swag or something also, just a thought. Thanks for chiming in Charlie. 1 Quote
JEDISTAR[TK] Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Tony, yeah I happened to see the CRL change, glad I did mine when I did! lol I wouldnt mind building a game-version pack in the future when funds allow for it yeah for now Im pretty much the main HWT that troops it alot. I saw your thread on yours and it is sah-weet man! Looks awesome! I take it you have 2 suits since I will not weather mine because I love my clean Cent TK...We would look pretty identical if we were standing side by side with the exception of the pack and the dirt I dont remember the number of my request for my HWT if you want to take a look at it. A HWT group with some swag would be cool!! 1 Quote

ukswrath[Staff] Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Charlie I have a proposition for ya. Dirty up your armor, drop the boxes, holster and TD, sport some ammo packs, a spacepack, a BFG and become a official HWT Centurion #3. What do ya say? BTW you're #60 Cent.... AWESOME! Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 And, even if elements are required for EI, etc. doesn't always mean you troop that way. Those packs get heavy, and even as a TD we'd sometimes ditch the pack and just E-11 it. Quote

Just last month I was practically chastised by one of the FISD admins on here for telling a new recruit that he didn't always have to wear his pack especially if it becomes tiresome. He's interested in going HWT but didn't want to were the pack all the time. Someone didn't like me telling him that and I was scolded. Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Well, whoever said that was a silly rabbit. Detachments have zero say in how people troop, and never have. Heck, you don't even need to troop full EI or Centurion, or even keep your costume that way. Once you get your EI or Centurion they are one time award. Detachments are advisory boards that focus on costume research, helping new member, and building esprit de corp. It's up to you and your local GEC/event coordinator on how you troop. Anyone who says otherwise is misinformed. 1 Quote

JEDISTAR[TK] Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 Hey Tony! Yeah since I have my Centurion for my ANH TK, I cant get another, but I can get EIB for it as long as I get a game pack. I've already had everything else for a long time. 1 Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 If either of you want the mini-mag, I'll sell it to you. Needs a little TLC though. Unless they change EI to allow the sandy packs, it's not worth me bothering about anymore and just taking up room in my closet. Quote
