Mcott65[TK] Posted March 24, 2015 Author Report Posted March 24, 2015 Hi never put it on the elastic i used a fabric paint for that. I also painted in sides of the soles with revell aqua colour black which is an acrylic model paint to cover over painting of the white. The leather dye is actually an acrylic paint as well , i removed as much black from the boots as possible with isopropyl carefully. Then they had about five or six coats of leather dye using a sponge brush. The elastic had about the same number of coats of fabric paint. Then i finished them with three coats of kiwi trainer whitener. Quote

Bone[501st] Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 I found that leather color in a rattle can is very easy to work with and gives superb results. I used a brand called from "Super Magix" Amaz on. 5-6 layers, worked like a charm. And fabric paint for the elastics. Quote
Garbz[TK] Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 I used Tarrago dye to help change the leather color, then I used a rattle can leather paint from a saddle shop to even the coats. then polished with white Kiwi polish. Good luck!! Quote
