Greetings from Finland!

I have been trying to find where to buy a legit Stormtrooper costume but I am really confused because there are so many options(different kind of plastic, kits, molds, official lucasarts licenced products that are not authentic etc etc). I have a 1000€ and I just want to buy awesome Stormtrooper that looks just like the ones in the movie and still fits me well enough so I can move around! Please help me you guys are my only hope!

Hi Aleski!  I would HIGHLY recommend going to the "Getting Started" forum on the main page.  They have a list of "vetted"  (reputable) armor makers, and a list of ones to steer clear of.  Do a LOT of research before you commit to buy anything, avoid ebay, and if you have questions, ask them on here.  Half the fun of this whole thing is assembling your TK armor yourself, and there are thousands of reference pictures and tuorials to help you.  I wish you the best of luck!!

Try the thread "The various types of armor, and where to find them"...

Good call!  And, in his "neck of the woods", so to speak!

Welcome Aleksi.  I think you may want to do some more research before you jump into anything.  Have you decided on what type of Stormtrooper you would like to build?  There are certain stormtrooper armors that fit certain body types better then others as well.  Do you know if you are going to build the armor yourself or are you looking for the armor to come assembled?  Are you looking for just basic approval or are you looking to achieve higher standards?

You should certainly look at the getting started thread and then get an idea of what stormtrooper you would like to be first.  Then read a lot of threads for information.  Then after you read those threads you should read some more threads.  This is a timely process and hobby.  Do not rush into anything.

Also is your 1000 Euros the max amount you would like to spend on the whole project or just the armor itself?

Good Luck to you.

It would be great, if you could post your height and your weight, so that the more experienced TKs can give advice.

First of all, decide which type of of armor it should be.

You said, you want it to look like the real Thing.

"A new hope" Style of armor, or more "return of the Jedi"?

Are you tall, Slim, short?

Tell us something about yourself and we can offer suggestions.

Oh, and by the way, welcome to the White Zone!

Oh my god there is a difference between episode IV and VI armours? I feel such a noob for not knowing that. :D What is the difference between IV and VI armour and what would you recommend? Maybe the original?

I'm 183 cm tall(about 6 feet?), weight 80kg(so normal BMI)

And for the budget, I am ready to go up to 2000€ for the whole project, if it what it needs to get it "just right for me".

What does it take to achieve higher standards? I would most definitely ready to go there if it is possible with my budget, skills and time(currently studying at university and I need the suit before june).

Moi Aleksi,

Keeping it in English, but it's a fellow Finn here.

I bought RS Propmasters ESB TK armour. Not available through their website, but they still make them. It's amazing quality.

Another armour maker in UK is Trooper Master (Paul). What I've seen, his product is amazing.

Make or break for me was the assembly service which RS was able to do a quick turnaround with.

Drop both of them e-mails to see if they can build one for your size.

I know there is a armour maker in Germany as well...

You can also check with Nordic Garrison and I'm sure the boys and girls there can help as well.

Good luck with your journey.

PM me if you need more help/guidance.

Thanks,

Jani

Welcome to the neighborhood, Aleksi!

As you put together your overall budget, be sure to set aside some for the extras that help make trooping enjoyable.  Like, fans and voice amps for in the mask, and every Stormtrooper needs an E-11 Blaster!

Good luck and have fun on this adventure!
