Ghost Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Hi, Just bought this helmet from e-bay as looking to do a sandtrooper bucket. The seller stated that it is .80 gauge white ABS plastic and came off a GF (Follano) mold. Can anyone with a good eye confirm this from the picture??? Cheers, Scott Quote
trooperstormy Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Looks like an AP helmet kit to me. (GF "sold" his molds to AP..from what I understand) With both Flat and bubble lenses. Along with ANH and ESB decals. Been looking at that on eBay for a while. Quote
ThayNerd[TK] Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Beat me too it Ryan. It looks like an AP to me as well. Quote
SuperTrooper Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Post a straight on shot of the face and I can tell you for sure if it is GF or AP. Quote
TK-4510[501st] Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Nevermind, those were Trooperdecals.. Oh and yes.... that does look like an AP or GF helmet. If the hovi's are made from faucet heads then yes almost certainly. Quote
Ghost Posted March 28, 2008 Author Report Posted March 28, 2008 Thanks for your help, as soon as I receive it I will get some better shots and post them!! Cheers!! Quote
Ghost Posted March 28, 2008 Author Report Posted March 28, 2008 It cost me just over $300 but that included shipping to the UK. But think I will order some Sandtrooper decals from trooperdecals and base it one one of the original ANH sandtrooper !!! Cheers for all your input, and I'll post photos of before and after asap! Ghost Posted April 2, 2008 Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 Helmet has arrived today , and here are some close ups of the face if that helps confirm if it's an AP: Thanks again for the input!! Quote
Chefhawk[501st] Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 nice catch. im looking forward to the progress pics on this. cheers for posting Quote
Ghost Posted April 4, 2008 Author Report Posted April 4, 2008 I have now started to build the helmet. I had to tidy up the teeth, and riveted the faceplate to the cap and after a bit of trimming have attached the brow trim Getting hassle from my Mrs so will have to carry on tomorrow!!...will show you the finished piece soon!!! Bigturc Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 I'm quite surprised by the gloss of that ABS (post 11), I've never seen an AP so glossy before ... Mine sure isn't and I've seen enough direct from AP to know that it's been quite a while since he had such a shine on his ABS. Mmmm Quote
Ghost Posted April 9, 2008 Author Report Posted April 9, 2008 Alain, The guy I bought it from claimed that it was a GF that he bought off e-bay about three years ago!? Not sure what to believe on e-bay though!!! Thanks for the interest all Quote
Ghost Posted April 19, 2008 Author Report Posted April 19, 2008 As it's my first build, I decided to base it on the 'Stop that ship' TD..nearly done Quote
riveting Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Look's good Scott , do you have pic's of the front elevation too?? Quote
