Arnie_DK[TK] Posted January 25, 2015 Report Posted January 25, 2015 Those who know me, probably also know about my first Stormtrooper armor. Complete ripoff, bought from Jedi-robe/stormtrooper-costumes.com.Crappy FX armor made of Polystyrene plastic.I had it approved, but only wore it once, before getting me a TM suit. You can find of my Fanmade Vs. Commersial armor thread on theese boards, to see a comparrison between theese two suits.Anyways, I have given the old armor to a friend of mine, and we have started the slow process of making it fit him (he is tiny ) as well as trying to make it look better, meaning, cutting the pieces, so they have same form as my TM and giving it all return edges(!!!!!)We have been working only a few days now, but wanted to show the pictures of the process so far.First, we just put the armor on him...as isThen we started cutting, sanding and heat bending...comparing as best we could, to my TM along the way.Making return edges, really does a lot for this armor!! But damn... takes sooo much time to do!Stay tuned 1 Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 4, 2015 Author Report Posted February 4, 2015 Ulf have been making progress with the return edges last sunday, and I have assembeled most of the pieces.TIP: If you are going to make return edges, spraying your Heat sealing iron with silicone greatly helps the iron run along the plastic, instead of just sticking to it and melting it!!!I also learned, that making goop from HIPS, is not really the same as making goop from ABS Cant do much about the way the armor lacks conforming to the human anatomy...but still. We are getting there. Just checked the CRL and we are aiming for EIB approval Will never go Centurion, without at least a new Chest and backplate though! Quote

Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 11, 2015 Author Report Posted February 11, 2015 Tonight we have done some strapping and fitting of the thighs. We are slowly getting somewhere... Please ignore the butt plate for now. It will be fixed The thigs needed a bit of cutting, but I think they turned out quite allright And just to show you what scale we are talking here.Thats my TM on my bodyfitted mannequin ) Quote

Arnie_DK[TK] Posted March 3, 2015 Author Report Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) Getting real close now!!Just need to fix the butt plate. It got too tiny (luckily we have a spare [ ] ). Also need elastic for the shoulder bells, but thats an easy fix. Aside from the few things on the armor, we still need boots, neckseal, holster and undersuit. Edited March 3, 2015 by Arnie_DK 1 Quote

Arnie_DK[TK] Posted March 3, 2015 Author Report Posted March 3, 2015 Thanks Apreciate it. I think we have spent around 15 hours just bending this darn thing into shape and making return edges Quote

Arnie_DK[TK] Posted August 4, 2016 Author Report Posted August 4, 2016 Well. Sorry for reviving this old thing. But after a lot of turmoil and...stuff... We finally sent in the application, for getting Ulf approved!!! (and it seemed better, to just revive the thread, than start a new one). 1 Quote
